3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve.

3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve.

Christ died to take away our sins as the Scriptures predicted.

He was brought back to life on the third day as the Scriptures predicted. 

5 He appeared to Cephas.Next he appeared to the twelve apostles.

Then he appeared to the Twelve.
