Isaiah 10:19–20

19 And the remaining trees of his forests will be so few

that a child could write them down.

20 In that day the remnant of Israel,

the survivors of Jacob,

will no longer rely on him

who struck them down

but will truly rely on the Lord,

the Holy One of Israel.

19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few,

That a child may write them.

20 And it shall come to pass in that day,

That the remnant of Israel,

And such as are escaped of the house of Jacob,

Shall no more again stay upon him that smote them;

But shall stay upon the Lord,

The Holy One of Israel, in truth.

19 Of all that glorious forest, only a few trees will survive—

so few that a child could count them!

20 In that day the remnant left in Israel,

the survivors in the house of Jacob,

will no longer depend on allies

who seek to destroy them.

But they will faithfully trust the Lord,

the Holy One of Israel.

19 Then the rest of the trees of his forest

Will be so few in number

That a child may write them.

20 And it shall come to pass in that day

That the remnant of Israel,

And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob,

Will never again depend on him who defeated them,

But will depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

19 The trees left standing will be so few

that even a child could count them.

20 At that time some people will be left alive in Israel

from the family of Jacob.

They will not continue to depend

on the person who defeated them.

They will learn truly to depend on the Lord,

the Holy One of Israel.

19 And the remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, so that a child may write them.

20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and they that are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again lean upon him that smote them, but shall lean upon Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

19 And the remainder of the trees of his forest shall be few: yea, a child might write them.

20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob shall no more again rely upon him that smote them; but they shall rely upon Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

19 The trees that remain in the forest will be so few that 

a child could count them. 

20 At that time the remaining few Israelites, 

the survivors of Jacob’s descendants 

will no longer depend on the one who struck them. 

They will only depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

20 On that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer depend on the one who struck them, but they will faithfully depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

19 The remnant of the trees of his forest will be so few

that a child can write them down.

20 On that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer lean on the one who struck them but will lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

19 And the rest of the trees of his forest will be a small number,

and a boy can write them down.

20 And this shall happen: on that day, the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will not continue to lean on the one who struck it

but will lean on Yahweh, the holy one of Israel, in truth.

19 It will be like the trees of their forests.

So few of them will be left standing

that even a child could count them.

20 In days to come, some people will still be left alive in Israel.

They will be from Jacob’s family line.

But they won’t depend any longer on

the nation that struck them down.

Instead, they will truly depend on the Lord.

He is the Holy One of Israel.

19 And the rest of the trees of his forest will be so small in number

That a child could write them down.

20 Now in that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.
