Psalm 29
The Voice of the Lord
A Davidic psalm.
1Ascribe to Yahweh, you heavenly beings, x
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name;
worship Yahweh
in the splendor of His holiness. yz
3The voice of the Lord is above the waters.
The God of glory thunders—
the Lord, above vast waters, a
4the voice of the Lord in power,
the voice of the Lord in splendor. b
5The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon. c
6He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, d
and Sirion, elike a young wild ox. f
7The voice of the Lord flashes flames of fire. g
8The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. h
9The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth ij
and strips the woodlands bare. k
In His temple all cry, “Glory!”
10The Lord sat enthroned at the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned, King forever. l
11The Lord gives His people strength; m
the Lord blesses His people with peace. n
