Matthew 8:23–26

Wind and Wave Obey the Master

23 As He got into the m boat, n His disciples o followed Him. 24 Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But He was sleeping. 25 So the disciples came and woke Him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to die!”

26 But He said to them, Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. p And there was a great calm.

Matthew 8:23–26 — The New International Version (NIV)

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
