Jeremiah 50:4–7

In those days and at that time—

this is the Lord’s declaration—

the Israelites and Judeans will come together, s

weeping as they come,

and will seek the Lord their God. t

They will ask about * Zion,

turning their faces to this road.

They will come and join themselves u to the Lord

in an everlasting covenant v that will never be forgotten.

My people are lost sheep; w

their shepherds have led them astray, x

guiding them the wrong way in the mountains. y

They have wandered from mountain to hill;

they have forgotten their resting place.

All who found them devoured them.

Their adversaries said, “We’re not * guilty;

Jeremiah 50:4–7 — The New International Version (NIV)

“In those days, at that time,”

declares the Lord,

“the people of Israel and the people of Judah together

will go in tears to seek the Lord their God.

They will ask the way to Zion

and turn their faces toward it.

They will come and bind themselves to the Lord

in an everlasting covenant

that will not be forgotten.

“My people have been lost sheep;

their shepherds have led them astray

and caused them to roam on the mountains.

They wandered over mountain and hill

and forgot their own resting place.

Whoever found them devoured them;

their enemies said, ‘We are not guilty,

for they sinned against the Lord, their verdant pasture,

the Lord, the hope of their ancestors.’
