Acts 14:21–23

21 After they had evangelized that town and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, to Iconium, and to Antioch, l 22 strengthening the m disciples by encouraging them to continue in the faith n and by telling them, “It is necessary to pass through many troubles o on our way into the kingdom of God.”

23 When they had appointed elders p in every church and prayed with fasting, they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

Acts 14:21–23 — The New International Version (NIV)

21 They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, 22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 23 Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.
