20When you harvest olives from your trees, never knock down all of them. Leave some for foreigners, orphans, and widows.
21When you pick the grapes in your vineyard, don’t pick all of them. Leave some for foreigners, orphans, and widows. 22Remember that you were slaves in Egypt. So I’m commanding you to do this.

You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I command you to do this.

When you beat the olives from your olive trees, don’t go over the boughs twice. Leave the remaining olives for the foreigners, orphans, and widows. When you gather the grapes in your vineyard, don’t glean the vines after they are picked. Leave the remaining grapes for the foreigners, orphans, and widows. When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
