Isaiah 34:13–15

34:13 Her fortresses will be overgrown with thorns;

thickets and weeds will grow29 in her fortified cities.

Jackals will settle there;

ostriches will live there.30

34:14 Wild animals and wild dogs will congregate there;31

wild goats will bleat to one another.32

Yes, nocturnal animals33 will rest there

and make for themselves a nest.34

34:15 Owls35 will make nests and lay eggs36 there;

they will hatch them and protect them.37

Yes, hawks38 will gather there,

each with its mate.
