22*I am the Lord; why don’t you fear me? Why don’t you tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary of the sea, a permanent boundary that it cannot cross. The sea may toss, but it cannot go beyond it; the waves may roar, but they cannot break through.

Do you not fear me?

the one who set the sand as the boundary of the sea,

an enduring barrier that it cannot cross?

The waves surge, but they cannot prevail.

They roar but cannot pass over it.

NLTNew Living Translation

Have you no respect for me?

The waves may toss and roar,

but they can never pass the boundaries I set.

LEBThe Lexham English Bible

Do you not revere me?” declares Yahweh,

“Do you not tremble before me?

For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea,

as an everlasting limit, and it cannot pass over it,

and they rise and fall loudly, but they cannot prevail,

and its waves roar, but they cannot pass over it.

KJV 1900King James Version

Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
