14*I will be his father, and he will be my son. Your dynasty will never end.’ ”

17Nathan told David everything that God had revealed to him.

I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. Your throne shall be established forever.’ ” In accordance with all these words, and in accordance with all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.

NIVNew International Version (2011)

I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands. Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.’ ”

Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation.

Your house and kingdom will endure before me forever, and your throne will be established forever.’ ”

Nathan reported all these words and this entire vision to David.

NLTNew Living Translation

I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do. But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight. Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.’ ”

So Nathan went back to David and told him everything the Lord had said in this vision.

Your house and your kingdom shall endure forever before you; your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”

I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.
