Numbers 27:15–20

15 Moses spoke to the Lord, saying, 16 “Let the Lord, mthe God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation 17 who nshall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be oas sheep that have no shepherd.” 18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take pJoshua the son of Nun, a man qin whom is the Spirit, and rlay your hand on him. 19 Make him stand before Eleazar the priest and all the congregation, and you shall scommission him in their sight. 20 You shall invest him with some of your authority, tthat all the congregation of the people of Israel may obey.

Numbers 27:15–20 — The New International Version (NIV)

15 Moses said to the Lord, 16 “May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community 17 to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”

18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him. 19 Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence. 20 Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.
