7They said to him, x“Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?” 8He said to them, “Because of your yhardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 9zAnd I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”1

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
