Mark 9:27–29

27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

27 But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him to his feet, and he stood up.

28 Afterward, when Jesus was alone in the house with his disciples, they asked him, “Why couldn’t we cast out that evil spirit?”

29 Jesus replied, “This kind can be cast out only by prayer.”

27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”

29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

27 But Jesus took hold of the boy’s hand and helped him to stand up.

28 When Jesus went into the house, his followers began asking him privately, “Why couldn’t we force that evil spirit out?”

29 Jesus answered, “That kind of spirit can only be forced out by prayer.”

27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose. 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, How is it that we could not cast it out? 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come out by nothing, save by prayer.

27 But Jesus, having taken hold of him by the hand, lifted him up, and he arose. 28 And when he was entered into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Wherefore could not we cast him out? 29 And he said to them, This kind can go out by nothing but by prayer and fasting.

27 Jesus took his hand and helped him to stand up. 

28 When Jesus went into a house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we force the spirit out of the boy?” 

29 He told them, “This kind of spirit can be forced out only by prayer.”

27 But Jesus, taking him by the hand, raised him, and he stood up.

28 After He went into a house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

29 And He told them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer [and fasting].”

27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he was able to stand. 28 When he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 He said to them, “This kind can come out only through prayer.”

27 But Jesus took hold of his hand and raised him up, and he stood up. 28 And after he had entered into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why were we not able to expel it?” 29 And he said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing except by prayer.”

27 But Jesus took him by the hand. He lifted the boy to his feet, and the boy stood up.

28 Jesus went indoors. Then his disciples asked him in private, “Why couldn’t we drive out the evil spirit?”

29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

27 But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him; and he got up.

28 When He came into the house, His disciples began questioning Him privately, “Why could we not drive it out?”

29 And He said to them, “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer.”
