Malachi 2:14
Malachi 2:14 — The New International Version (NIV)
14 You ask, “Why?” It is because the Lord is the witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.
Malachi 2:14 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
14 Yet ye say, Wherefore?
Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth,
Against whom thou hast dealt treacherously:
Yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
Malachi 2:14 — New Living Translation (NLT)
14 You cry out, “Why doesn’t the Lord accept my worship?” I’ll tell you why! Because the Lord witnessed the vows you and your wife made when you were young. But you have been unfaithful to her, though she remained your faithful partner, the wife of your marriage vows.
Malachi 2:14 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
14 Yet you say, “For what reason?”
Because the Lord has been witness
Between you and the wife of your youth,
With whom you have dealt treacherously;
Yet she is your companion
And your wife by covenant.
Malachi 2:14 — New Century Version (NCV)
14 You ask, “Why?” It is because the Lord sees how you treated the wife you married when you were young. You broke your promise to her, even though she was your partner and you had an agreement with her.
Malachi 2:14 — American Standard Version (ASV)
14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because Jehovah hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously, though she is thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
Malachi 2:14 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because Jehovah hath been a witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt unfaithfully: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
Malachi 2:14 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Malachi 2:14 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Malachi 2:14 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
14 But you ask, “For what reason?” Because Yahweh stands as a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have been unfaithful, even though she is your marriage partner and your wife by covenant.
Malachi 2:14 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
14 You ask, “Why?” It’s because the Lord is holding you accountable. He watches how you treat the wife you married when you were young. You have broken your promise to her. You did it even though she’s your partner. You promised to stay married to her. And the Lord was a witness to it.
Malachi 2:14 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)
