9 “Now plead with God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?”—says the Lord Almighty.

9 And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us:

This hath been by your means:

Will he regard your persons? saith the Lord of hosts.

9 “Go ahead, beg God to be merciful to you! But when you bring that kind of offering, why should he show you any favor at all?” asks the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

9 “But now entreat God’s favor,

That He may be gracious to us.

While this is being done by your hands,

Will He accept you favorably?”

Says the Lord of hosts.

9 “Now ask God to be kind to you, but he won’t accept you with such offerings,” says the Lord All-Powerful.

9 And now, I pray you, entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts.

9 And now, I pray you, beseech •God that he will be gracious unto us. This hath been of your hand: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts.

9 “Now try asking God to be kind to you. This is what you are doing! Will he welcome you?” asks the Lord of Armies. 

9 “And now ask for God’s favor. Will He be gracious to us? Since this has come from your hands, will He show any of you favor?” asks the Lord of Hosts.

9 And now implore the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. The fault is yours. Will he show favor to any of you? says the Lord of hosts.

9 So then, implore the favor of God so that he will be gracious to us. “This is what you have done. Will he show favor to any of you?” says Yahweh of hosts.

9 “Now you dare to ask me to show you my favor! But as long as you give offerings like those, how can I accept you?” says the Lord.

9 “But now will you not entreat God’s favor, that He may be gracious to us? With such an offering on your part, will He receive any of you kindly?” says the Lord of hosts.
