John 8:47–48

47 Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”

48 The Jews answered him, “Aren’t we right in saying that you are a Samaritan and demon-possessed?”

47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. 48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

47 Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”

48 The people retorted, “You Samaritan devil! Didn’t we say all along that you were possessed by a demon?”

47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

48 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

47 The person who belongs to God accepts what God says. But you don’t accept what God says, because you don’t belong to God.”

48 They answered, “We say you are a Samaritan and have a demon in you. Are we not right?”

47 He that is of God heareth the words of God: for this cause ye hear them not, because ye are not of God. 48 The Jews answered and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?

47 He that is of God hears the words of God: therefore ye hear them not, because ye are not of God. 48 The Jews answered and said to him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan and hast a demon?

47 The person who belongs to God understands what God says. You don’t understand because you don’t belong to God.” 

48 The Jews replied to Jesus, “Aren’t we right when we say that you’re a Samaritan and that you’re possessed by a demon?” 

47 The one who is from God listens to God’s words. This is why you don’t listen, because you are not from God.”

48 The Jews responded to Him, “Aren’t we right in saying that You’re a Samaritan and have a demon?”

47 Whoever is from God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear them is that you are not from God.”

48 The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

47 The one who is from God listens to the words of God. Because of this you do not listen—because you are not of God.”

48 The Jews answered and said to him, “Do we not correctly say that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

47 “Everyone who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you don’t hear is that you don’t belong to God.”

48 The Jews answered Jesus, “Aren’t we right when we say you are a Samaritan? Aren’t you controlled by a demon?”

47 “He who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”
