Job 16:7–8

7 Surely, God, you have worn me out;

you have devastated my entire household.

8 You have shriveled me up—and it has become a witness;

my gauntness rises up and testifies against me.

7 But now he hath made me weary:

Thou hast made desolate all my company.

8 And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me:

And my leanness rising up in me

Beareth witness to my face.

7 “O God, you have ground me down

and devastated my family.

8 As if to prove I have sinned, you’ve reduced me to skin and bones.

My gaunt flesh testifies against me.

7 But now He has worn me out;

You have made desolate all my company.

8 You have shriveled me up,

And it is a witness against me;

My leanness rises up against me

And bears witness to my face.

7 God, you have surely taken away my strength

and destroyed my whole family.

8 You have made me thin and weak,

and this shows I have done wrong.

7 But now he hath made me weary:

Thou hast made desolate all my company.

8 And thou hast laid fast hold on me, which is a witness against me:

And my leanness riseth up against me,

It testifieth to my face.

7 But now he hath made me weary; …thou hast made desolate all my family; 8 Thou hast shrivelled me up! it is become a witness; and my leanness riseth up against me, it beareth witness to my face.

7 “But now, God has worn me out. 

You, ⸤God,⸥ have destroyed everyone who supports me. 

8 You have shriveled me up, which itself is a witness ⸤against me⸥. 

My frail body rises up and testifies against me. 

7 Surely He has now exhausted me.

You have devastated my entire family.

8 You have shriveled me up —it has become a witness;

My frailty rises up against me and testifies to my face.

7 Surely now God has worn me out;

he has made desolate all my company.

8 And he has shriveled me up,

which is a witness against me;

my leanness has risen up against me,

and it testifies to my face.

7 “Surely now he has worn me out;

you have devastated all my company.

8 Thus you shriveled me up;

it became a witness.

And my leanness has risen up against me;

it testifies to my face.

7 God has worn me out completely.

He has destroyed my whole family.

8 People can see the condition he has put me in.

My thin body stands as a witness against me.

7 “But now He has exhausted me;

You have laid waste all my company.

8 “You have shriveled me up,

It has become a witness;

And my leanness rises up against me,

It testifies to my face.
