19 Hear, you earth:

I am bringing disaster on this people,

the fruit of their schemes,

because they have not listened to my words

and have rejected my law.

20 What do I care about incense from Sheba

or sweet calamus from a distant land?

Your burnt offerings are not acceptable;

your sacrifices do not please me.”

Jeremiah 6:19–20 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it. 20 To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.

Jeremiah 6:19–20 — New Living Translation (NLT)

19 Listen, all the earth!

I will bring disaster on my people.

It is the fruit of their own schemes,

because they refuse to listen to me.

They have rejected my word.

20 There’s no use offering me sweet frankincense from Sheba.

Keep your fragrant calamus imported from distant lands!

I will not accept your burnt offerings.

Your sacrifices have no pleasing aroma for me.”

Jeremiah 6:19–20 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

19 Hear, O earth!

Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people—

The fruit of their thoughts,

Because they have not heeded My words

Nor My law, but rejected it.

20 For what purpose to Me

Comes frankincense from Sheba,

And sweet cane from a far country?

Your burnt offerings are not acceptable,

Nor your sacrifices sweet to Me.”

Jeremiah 6:19–20 — New Century Version (NCV)

19 Hear this, people of the earth:

I am going to bring disaster to the people of Judah

because of the evil they plan.

They have not listened to my messages

and have rejected my teachings.

20 Why do you bring me offerings of incense from the land of Sheba?

Why do you bring me sweet-smelling cane from a faraway land?

Your burnt offerings will not be accepted;

your sacrifices do not please me.”

Jeremiah 6:19–20 — American Standard Version (ASV)

19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it. 20 To what purpose cometh there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing unto me.

19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, the fruit of their thoughts; for they have not hearkened unto my words, and as to my law, they have rejected it. 20 To what purpose should there come to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor are your sacrifices pleasing unto me.

Jeremiah 6:19–20 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

19 Listen, earth!

I’m going to bring disaster on these people.

It is the result of their own plots,

because they won’t pay attention to my words.

They reject my teachings.

Sugar cane that comes from a distant land is no good to me.

I won’t accept your burnt offerings.

I’m not pleased with your sacrifices.

Jeremiah 6:19–20 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Frankincense comes from Sheba,

I am going to bring trouble on them.

I will punish them because of the evil things they have done.

They have not listened to my words.

They have said no to my law.

Why should I bother with sweet-smelling cane from a land far away?

I do not accept your burnt offerings.

Your sacrifices do not please me.”
