Jeremiah 51:4–6

4 They will fall down slain in Babylon,

fatally wounded in her streets.

5 For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken

by their God, the Lord Almighty,

though their land is full of guilt

before the Holy One of Israel.

6 “Flee from Babylon!

Run for your lives!

Do not be destroyed because of her sins.

It is time for the Lord’s vengeance;

he will repay her what she deserves.

4 Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans,

And they that are thrust through in her streets.

5 For Israel hath not been forsaken,

Nor Judah of his God, of the Lord of hosts;

Though their land was filled with sin

Against the Holy One of Israel.

6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon,

And deliver every man his soul:

Be not cut off in her iniquity;

For this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance;

He will render unto her a recompence.

4 They will fall dead in the land of the Babylonians,

slashed to death in her streets.

5 For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies

has not abandoned Israel and Judah.

He is still their God,

even though their land was filled with sin

against the Holy One of Israel.”

6 Flee from Babylon! Save yourselves!

Don’t get trapped in her punishment!

It is the Lord’s time for vengeance;

he will repay her in full.

4 Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans,

And those thrust through in her streets.

5 For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah,

By his God, the Lord of hosts,

Though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.”

6 Flee from the midst of Babylon,

And every one save his life!

Do not be cut off in her iniquity,

For this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance;

He shall recompense her.

4 They will be killed in the land of the Babylonians

and will die in her streets.

5 The Lord God All-Powerful

did not leave Israel and Judah,

even though they were completely guilty

in the presence of the Holy One of Israel.

6 “Run away from Babylon

and save your lives!

Don’t stay and be killed because of Babylon’s sins.

It is time for the Lord to punish Babylon;

he will give Babylon the punishment she deserves.

4 And they shall fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, and thrust through in her streets.

5 For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah, of his God, of Jehovah of hosts; though their land is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel. 6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and save every man his life; be not cut off in her iniquity: for it is the time of Jehovah’s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.

4 Babylon’s soldiers will fall down badly wounded in their streets. 

They will lie dead in their own land. 

5 Israel and Judah haven’t been abandoned by their God, the Lord of Armies, although their land is guilty of abandoning the Holy One of Israel. 

6 Run away from Babylon! 

Run for your lives! 

You shouldn’t die because of Babylon’s crimes. 

This is the time for the vengeance of the Lord. 

He will pay the people of Babylon back for what they have done. 

4 Those who were slain will fall in the land of the Chaldeans,

those who were pierced through, in her streets.

5 For Israel and Judah are not left widowed

by their God, the Lord of Hosts,

though their land is full of guilt

against the Holy One of Israel.

6 Leave Babylon;

save your lives, each of you!

Don’t perish because of her guilt.

For this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance—

He will pay her what she deserves.

from Yahweh of hosts,

though their land is full of guilt

against the Holy One of Israel.”

6 Flee from the midst of Babylon and save each one his life.

You must not perish because of her guilt.

For this is the time of vengeance for Yahweh,

he will repay her what is deserved.

4 They will fall down dead in Babylon.

They will receive deadly wounds in its streets.

5 The land of Israel and Judah is full of guilt.

Its people have sinned against me.

But I have not deserted them. I am their God.

I am the Lord who rules over all.

I am the Holy One of Israel.

6 “People of Judah, run away from Babylonia!

Run for your lives!

Do not be destroyed because of the sins of its people.

It is time for me to pay them back.

I will punish them for what they have done.

4 “They will fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans,

And pierced through in their streets.”

5 For neither Israel nor Judah has been forsaken

By his God, the Lord of hosts,

Although their land is full of guilt

Before the Holy One of Israel.

6 Flee from the midst of Babylon,

And each of you save his life!

Do not be destroyed in her punishment,

For this is the Lord’s time of vengeance;

He is going to render recompense to her.
