Jeremiah 25:29–31

29 See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword on all who live on the earth, declares the Lord Almighty.’

30 “Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them:

“ ‘The Lord will roar from on high;

he will thunder from his holy dwelling

and roar mightily against his land.

He will shout like those who tread the grapes,

shout against all who live on the earth.

31 The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth,

for the Lord will bring charges against the nations;

he will bring judgment on all mankind

and put the wicked to the sword,’ ”

declares the Lord.

29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts. 30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them,

The Lord shall roar from on high,

And utter his voice from his holy habitation;

He shall mightily roar upon his habitation;

He shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes,

Against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth;

For the Lord hath a controversy with the nations,

He will plead with all flesh;

He will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord.

29 I have begun to punish Jerusalem, the city that bears my name. Now should I let you go unpunished? No, you will not escape disaster. I will call for war against all the nations of the earth. I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!’

30 “Now prophesy all these things, and say to them,

“ ‘The Lord will roar against his own land

from his holy dwelling in heaven.

He will shout like those who tread grapes;

he will shout against everyone on earth.

31 His cry of judgment will reach the ends of the earth,

for the Lord will bring his case against all the nations.

He will judge all the people of the earth,

slaughtering the wicked with the sword.

I, the Lord, have spoken!’ ”

29 For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’

30 “Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and say to them:

‘The Lord will roar from on high,

And utter His voice from His holy habitation;

He will roar mightily against His fold.

He will give a shout, as those who tread the grapes,

Against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 A noise will come to the ends of the earth—

For the Lord has a controversy with the nations;

He will plead His case with all flesh.

He will give those who are wicked to the sword,’ says the Lord.”

29 Look! I am already bringing disaster on Jerusalem, the city that is called by my name. Do you think you will not be punished? You will be punished! I am sending war on all the people of the earth, says the Lord All-Powerful.’

30 “You, Jeremiah, will prophesy against them with all these words. Say to them:

‘The Lord will roar from heaven

and will shout from his Holy Temple.

He will roar loudly against his land.

He will shout like people who walk on grapes to make wine;

he will shout against all who live on the earth.

31 The noise will spread all over the earth,

because the Lord will accuse all the nations.

He will judge and tell what is wrong with all people,

and he will kill the evil people with a sword,’ ” says the Lord.

29 For, lo, I begin to work evil at the city which is called by my name; and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith Jehovah of hosts.

30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, Jehovah will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he will mightily roar against his fold; he will give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. 31 A noise shall come even to the end of the earth; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the nations; he will enter into judgment with all flesh: as for the wicked, he will give them to the sword, saith Jehovah.

29 For behold, I begin to bring evil on the city that is called by my name, and should ye be altogether unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished; for I call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith Jehovah of hosts.

30 And thou, prophesy unto them all these words, and say unto them, Jehovah will roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he will mightily roar upon his dwelling-place, he will give a shout, as they that tread the vintage, against all the inhabitants of the earth. 31 The noise shall come to the end of the earth: for Jehovah hath a controversy with the nations, he entereth into judgment with all flesh; as for the wicked, he will give them up to the sword, saith Jehovah.

29 I am going to bring disaster on the city that is named after me. Do you think you’ll go unpunished? You will not go unpunished! I’m declaring war on all those who live on earth, declares the Lord of Armies.’ 

30 “That is why you will prophesy all these things to them and say, 

‘The Lord roars from above. 

He thunders from his holy dwelling place. 

He roars against his land. 

He shouts like those who stomp grapes. 

He shouts against all those who live on earth. 

31 The sound is echoing to the ends of the earth 

because the Lord has brought charges against the nations. 

He will judge all humans. 

He will kill the wicked, declares the Lord.’ 

29 For I am already bringing disaster on the city that bears My name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth”—this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts.

30 “As for you, you are to prophesy all these things to them, and say to them:

The Lord roars from heaven;

He raises His voice from His holy dwelling.

He roars loudly over His grazing land;

He calls out with a shout, like those who tread grapes,

against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 The tumult reaches to the ends of the earth

because the Lord brings a case against the nations.

He enters into judgment with all flesh.

As for the wicked, He hands them over to the sword—

this is the Lord’s declaration.

29 See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that is called by my name, and how can you possibly avoid punishment? You shall not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth, says the Lord of hosts.

30 You, therefore, shall prophesy to them all these words and say to them:

The Lord will roar from on high

and from his holy habitation utter his voice;

he will roar mightily against his fold

and shout like those who tread grapes

against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 The clamor will resound to the ends of the earth,

for the Lord has an indictment against the nations;

he is entering into judgment with all flesh,

and the guilty he will put to the sword,

says the Lord.

29 For look, on the city that is called by my name I am beginning to inflict harm, and you indeed, will you go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth,” declares Yahweh of hosts.’

30 And you yourself shall prophesy against them all these words, and you shall say to them:

‘Yahweh will roar from on high,

and from his holy dwelling place he will give his voice.

He will roar mightily against his settlement,

a jubilant shout like those who tread grapes,

he will answer against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 The rage of battle will resound to the end of the earth,

for there is a lawsuit of Yahweh against the nations.

He is entering into judgment with all wicked flesh,

he will give them to the sword,’ declares Yahweh.”

29 I am beginning to bring trouble on the city where I have put my Name. You might think you will not be punished. But you will certainly be punished. I am sending war against everyone who lives on earth,” announces the Lord who rules over all.’

30 “Jeremiah, prophesy against them. Tell them,

“ ‘The Lord will roar from heaven like a lion.

His voice will sound like thunder

from his holy temple there.

He will roar loudly against his land.

He will shout like those who stomp on grapes in winepresses.

He will shout against everyone who lives on earth.

31 The noise of battle will be heard

from one end of the earth to the other.

That’s because the Lord will bring charges against the nations.

He will judge every human being.

He will kill sinful people with his sword,’ ”

announces the Lord.

29 “For behold, I am beginning to work calamity in this city which is called by My name, and shall you be completely free from punishment? You will not be free from punishment; for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth,” declares the Lord of hosts.’

30 “Therefore you shall prophesy against them all these words, and you shall say to them,

‘The Lord will roar from on high

And utter His voice from His holy habitation;

He will roar mightily against His fold.

He will shout like those who tread the grapes,

Against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 ‘A clamor has come to the end of the earth,

Because the Lord has a controversy with the nations.

He is entering into judgment with all flesh;

As for the wicked, He has given them to the sword,’ declares the Lord.”
