Isaiah 65:6–9

6 “See, it stands written before me:

I will not keep silent but will pay back in full;

I will pay it back into their laps—

7 both your sins and the sins of your ancestors,”

says the Lord.

“Because they burned sacrifices on the mountains

and defied me on the hills,

I will measure into their laps

the full payment for their former deeds.”

8 This is what the Lord says:

“As when juice is still found in a cluster of grapes

and people say, ‘Don’t destroy it,

there is still a blessing in it,’

so will I do in behalf of my servants;

I will not destroy them all.

9 I will bring forth descendants from Jacob,

and from Judah those who will possess my mountains;

my chosen people will inherit them,

and there will my servants live.

6 Behold, it is written before me:

I will not keep silence, but will recompense,

Even recompense into their bosom,

7 Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the Lord,

Which have burned incense upon the mountains,

And blasphemed me upon the hills:

Therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.

8 Thus saith the Lord,

As the new wine is found in the cluster,

And one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it:

So will I do for my servants’ sakes,

That I may not destroy them all.

9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob,

And out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains:

And mine elect shall inherit it,

And my servants shall dwell there.

6 “Look, my decree is written out in front of me:

I will not stand silent;

I will repay them in full!

Yes, I will repay them—

7 both for their own sins

and for those of their ancestors,”

says the Lord.

“For they also burned incense on the mountains

and insulted me on the hills.

I will pay them back in full!

8 “But I will not destroy them all,”

says the Lord.

“For just as good grapes are found among a cluster of bad ones

(and someone will say, ‘Don’t throw them all away—

some of those grapes are good!’),

so I will not destroy all Israel.

For I still have true servants there.

9 I will preserve a remnant of the people of Israel

and of Judah to possess my land.

Those I choose will inherit it,

and my servants will live there.

6 “Behold, it is written before Me:

7 Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together,”

Says the Lord,

“Who have burned incense on the mountains

And blasphemed Me on the hills;

Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.”

8 Thus says the Lord:

“As the new wine is found in the cluster,

And one says, ‘Do not destroy it,

For a blessing is in it,’

So will I do for My servants’ sake,

That I may not destroy them all.

9 I will bring forth descendants from Jacob,

And from Judah an heir of My mountains;

My elect shall inherit it,

And My servants shall dwell there.

6 “Look, it is written here before me.

I will not be quiet; instead, I will repay you in full.

I will punish you for what you have done.

7 I will punish you for your sins and your ancestors’ sins,”

says the Lord.

“They burned incense to gods on the mountains

and shamed me on those hills.

So I will punish them as they should be punished

for what they did.”

8 This is what the Lord says:

“When there is juice left in the grapes,

people do not destroy them,

because they know there is good left in them.

So I will do the same thing to my servants—

I will not completely destroy them.

9 I will leave some of the children of Jacob,

and some of the people of Judah will receive my mountain.

I will choose the people who will live there;

my servants will live there.

6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, yea, I will recompense into their bosom, 7 your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith Jehovah, that have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills; therefore will I first measure their work into their bosom.

8 Thus saith Jehovah, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all. 9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains; and my chosen shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

8 Thus saith Jehovah: As the new wine is found in the cluster, and it is said, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it; so will I do for my servants’ sakes, that I may not destroy them all. 9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah a possessor of my mountains; and mine elect shall possess it, and my servants shall dwell there.

6 “Look! It is written in front of me. 

I will not be silent, but I will repay. 

I will repay you in full. 

7 I will repay you for your sins 

and for the sins of your ancestors,” says the Lord. 

They burnt incense on the mountains and slandered me on the hills, 

so I will be the first to pay them back in full. 

8 This is what the Lord says: 

When someone finds juice for new wine in a cluster of grapes, 

another person will say, 

“Don’t destroy it, because there’s a blessing in it.” 

In the same way, I will do this for my servants: 

I will not destroy everything. 

9 I will bring ⸤with me⸥ Jacob’s descendant, 

one who will inherit my mountains from Judah. 

My chosen ones will inherit them. 

My servants will live there. 

6 It is written before Me:

I will not keep silent, but I will repay;

I will repay them fully

7 for your iniquities and the iniquities

of your fathers together,”

says the Lord.

“Because they burned incense on the mountains

and reproached Me on the hills,

I will reward them fully

for their former deeds.”

8 The Lord says this:

As the new wine is found in a bunch of grapes,

and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it,

for there’s some good in it,’

so I will act because of My servants

and not destroy them all.

9 I will produce descendants from Jacob,

and heirs to My mountains from Judah;

My chosen ones will possess it,

and My servants will dwell there.

6 See, it is written before me:

I will not keep silent, but I will repay;

I will indeed repay into their laps

7 their iniquities and their ancestors’ iniquities together,

says the Lord;

because they offered incense on the mountains

and reviled me on the hills,

I will measure into their laps

full payment for their actions.

8 Thus says the Lord:

As the wine is found in the cluster,

and they say, “Do not destroy it,

for there is a blessing in it,”

so I will do for my servants’ sake

and not destroy them all.

9 I will bring forth descendants from Jacob

and from Judah inheritors of my mountains;

my chosen shall inherit it,

and my servants shall settle there.

6 Look! It is written before me: I will not be silent, but I will repay;

and I will repay in the fold of their garment

7 your iniquities and the iniquities of your ancestors together, says Yahweh,

because they made smoke offerings on the mountains

and they taunted me on the hills,

I will measure their punishment from the beginning into the fold of their garment.”

8 Thus says Yahweh: “Just as the new wine is found in the cluster, and they say ‘You must not destroy it, for there is a blessing in it,’ so I will do for the sake of my servants by not destroying everyone.

9 And I will bring descendants out from Jacob,

and a people from Judah to take possession of my mountain,

and my chosen ones shall inherit it,

and my servants shall settle there.

6 “I will judge them. I have even written it down.

I will not keep silent.

Instead, I will pay them back for all of their sins.

7 I will punish them for their sins

and the sins of their people before them,”

says the Lord.

“They burned sacrifices on the mountains.

They disobeyed me by worshiping other gods on the hills.

So I will really punish them

for all of the sins they have committed.”

8 The Lord says,

“Sometimes juice is still left in grapes that have been crushed.

So people say, ‘Don’t destroy them.

Some good juice is still left in them.’

That is what I will do for the good of those who serve me.

I will not destroy all of my people.

9 I will give children

to the families of Jacob and Judah.

They will possess my entire land.

My chosen people will be given all of it.

Those who serve me will live there.

6 “Behold, it is written before Me,

I will even repay into their bosom,

7 Both their own iniquities and the iniquities of their fathers together,” says the Lord.

“Because they have burned incense on the mountains

And scorned Me on the hills,

Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.”

8 Thus says the Lord,

“As the new wine is found in the cluster,

And one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for there is benefit in it,’

So I will act on behalf of My servants

In order not to destroy all of them.

9 “I will bring forth offspring from Jacob,

And an heir of My mountains from Judah;

Even My chosen ones shall inherit it,

And My servants will dwell there.
