Isaiah 33:9–10

9 The land dries up and wastes away,

Lebanon is ashamed and withers;

Sharon is like the Arabah,

and Bashan and Carmel drop their leaves.

10 “Now will I arise,” says the Lord.

“Now will I be exalted;

now will I be lifted up.

9 The earth mourneth and languisheth:

Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down:

Sharon is like a wilderness;

And Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.

10 Now will I rise, saith the Lord;

Now will I be exalted;

Now will I lift up myself.

9 The land of Israel wilts in mourning.

Lebanon withers with shame.

The plain of Sharon is now a wilderness.

Bashan and Carmel have been plundered.

10 But the Lord says: “Now I will stand up.

Now I will show my power and might.

9 The earth mourns and languishes,

Lebanon is shamed and shriveled;

Sharon is like a wilderness,

And Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.

10 “Now I will rise,” says the Lord;

“Now I will be exalted,

Now I will lift Myself up.

9 The land is sick and dying;

Lebanon is ashamed and dying.

The Plain of Sharon is dry like the desert,

and the trees of Bashan and Carmel are dying.

10 The Lord says, “Now, I will stand up

and show my greatness.

Now, I will become important to the people.

9 The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is confounded and withereth away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves. 10 Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.

9 The land mourneth, it languisheth; Lebanon is ashamed, is withered; the Sharon is become as a desert, and Bashan and Carmel are stripped. 10 Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I be exalted, now will I lift up myself.

9 The country grieves and wastes away. 

Lebanon is ashamed and is decaying. 

Sharon has become like a wilderness. 

Bashan and Carmel are shaken. 

10 The Lord says, “Now I will arise. 

Now I will get up. 

Now I will be lifted up.” 

9 The land mourns and withers;

Lebanon is ashamed and decayed.

Sharon is like a desert;

Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.

10 “Now I will rise up,” says the Lord.

“Now I will lift Myself up.

Now I will be exalted.

9 The land mourns and languishes;

Lebanon is confounded and withers away;

Sharon is like a desert,

and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.

10 “Now I will arise,” says the Lord,

“now I will lift myself up;

now I will be exalted.

9 The land mourns; it languishes.

Lebanon feels abashed; it withers.

Sharon is like the desert,

and Bashan and Carmel are losing their leaves.

10 “Now I will arise,” says Yahweh.

“Now I will lift myself up proudly;

now I will raise myself.

9 The land is filled with sadness and wastes away.

Lebanon is full of shame and dries up.

The rich land of Sharon is like the Arabah Desert.

The trees of Bashan and Carmel drop their leaves.

10 “Now I will take action,” says the Lord.

“Now I will be honored.

Now I will be respected.

9 The land mourns and pines away,

Lebanon is shamed and withers;

Sharon is like a desert plain,

And Bashan and Carmel lose their foliage.

10 “Now I will arise,” says the Lord,

“Now I will be exalted, now I will be lifted up.
