Isaiah 22:8–9

8 The Lord stripped away the defenses of Judah,

and you looked in that day

to the weapons in the Palace of the Forest.

9 You saw that the walls of the City of David

were broken through in many places;

you stored up water

in the Lower Pool.

8 And he discovered the covering of Judah,

And thou didst look in that day to the armour of the house of the forest.

9 Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many:

And ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

8 Judah’s defenses have been stripped away.

You run to the armory for your weapons.

9 You inspect the breaks in the walls of Jerusalem.

You store up water in the lower pool.

8 He removed the protection of Judah.

You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest;

9 You also saw the damage to the city of David,

That it was great;

And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

8 The walls protecting Judah will fall.

At that time the people of Jerusalem depended on

the weapons kept at the Palace of the Forest.

9 You saw that the walls of Jerusalem

had many cracks that needed repairing.

You stored up water in the lower pool.

8 And he took away the covering of Judah; and thou didst look in that day to the armor in the house of the forest. 9 And ye saw the breaches of the city of David, that they were many; and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool;

8 And he uncovereth the covering of Judah: and thou didst look in that day to the armour in the house of the forest; 9 and ye have seen the breaches of the city of David, that they are many; and ye have gathered together the waters of the lower pool;

8 On that day the Lord will remove the defenses of Judah. 

You will look for weapons in the House of the Forest.

9 You will see how many places in David’s wall are broken. 

You will store water in the Lower Pool. 

8 He removed the defenses of Judah.

On that day you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest. 9 You saw that there were many breaches in the walls of the city of David. You collected water from the lower pool.

8 He has taken away the covering of Judah.

On that day you looked to the weapons of the House of the Forest, 9 and you saw that there were many breaches in the city of David, and you collected the waters of the lower pool.

8 And he uncovered the covering of Judah.

And you looked, on that day, to the weapons of the House of the Forest,

9 and you saw that the breaches in the walls of the city of David were many,

and you gathered the waters of the lower pool.

8 Judah wasn’t a safe place to live in anymore.

When all of that happened, you depended

on the weapons in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.

9 You saw that the City of David

had many holes in its walls.

They needed to be repaired.

You stored up water

in the Lower Pool.

8 And He removed the defense of Judah.

In that day you depended on the weapons of the house of the forest,

9 And you saw that the breaches

In the wall of the city of David were many;

And you collected the waters of the lower pool.
