Hebrews 2:1–2
Hebrews 2:1–2 — The New International Version (NIV)
1 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,
Hebrews 2:1–2 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Hebrews 2:1–2 — New Living Translation (NLT)
1 So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. 2 For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished.
Hebrews 2:1–2 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,
Hebrews 2:1–2 — New Century Version (NCV)
1 So we must be more careful to follow what we were taught. Then we will not stray away from the truth. 2 The teaching God spoke through angels was shown to be true, and anyone who did not follow it or obey it received the punishment that was earned.
Hebrews 2:1–2 — American Standard Version (ASV)
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward;
Hebrews 2:1–2 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
1 For this reason we should give heed more abundantly to the things we have heard, lest in any way we should slip away. 2 For if the word which was spoken by angels was firm, and every transgression and disobedience received just retribution,
Hebrews 2:1–2 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
1 For this reason we must pay closer attention to what we have heard. Then we won’t drift away ⸤from the truth⸥. 2 After all, the message that the angels brought was reliable, and every violation and act of disobedience was properly punished.
Hebrews 2:1–2 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
1 We must, therefore, pay even more attention to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away. 2 For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,
Hebrews 2:1–2 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
1 Therefore we must pay greater attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. 2 For if the message declared through angels was valid, and every transgression or disobedience received a just penalty,
Hebrews 2:1–2 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
1 Because of this, it is all the more necessary that we pay attention to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels was binding and every transgression and act of disobedience received a just penalty,
Hebrews 2:1–2 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
1 So we must pay more careful attention to what we have heard. Then we will not drift away from it. 2 Even the message God spoke through angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law, they were punished. Every time they didn’t obey, they were punished.
Hebrews 2:1–2 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)
