Habakkuk 1:17–2:1
Habakkuk 1:17–2:1 — The New International Version (NIV)
17 Is he to keep on emptying his net,
destroying nations without mercy?
1 I will stand at my watch
and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
Habakkuk 1:17–2:1 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
17 Shall they therefore empty their net, And not spare continually to slay the nations?
1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, And will watch to see what he will say unto me, And what I shall answer when I am reproved.
Habakkuk 1:17–2:1 — New Living Translation (NLT)
17 Will you let them get away with this forever?
Will they succeed forever in their heartless conquests?
1 I will climb up to my watchtower
and stand at my guardpost.
There I will wait to see what the Lord says
and how he will answer my complaint.
Habakkuk 1:17–2:1 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
17 Shall they therefore empty their net,
And continue to slay nations without pity?
1 I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me,
And what I will answer when I am corrected.
Habakkuk 1:17–2:1 — New Century Version (NCV)
17 Will he keep on taking riches with his net?
Will he go on destroying people without showing mercy?

I will wait to learn how God will answer my complaint.

17 Will they keep on emptying their nets

keep on emptying their nets?
Will they go on destroying nations

Then I’ll try to figure out how to answer him.
