Ezekiel 32:9–12

9 I will trouble the hearts of many peoples

when I bring about your destruction among the nations,

among lands you have not known.

10 I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you,

and their kings will shudder with horror because of you

when I brandish my sword before them.

On the day of your downfall

each of them will tremble

every moment for his life.

11 “ ‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“ ‘The sword of the king of Babylon

will come against you.

12 I will cause your hordes to fall

by the swords of mighty men—

the most ruthless of all nations.

They will shatter the pride of Egypt,

and all her hordes will be overthrown.

9 I will also vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known. 10 Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

11 For thus saith the Lord God; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. 12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them: and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.

9 “I will disturb many hearts when I bring news of your downfall to distant nations you have never seen. 10 Yes, I will shock many lands, and their kings will be terrified at your fate. They will shudder in fear for their lives as I brandish my sword before them on the day of your fall. 11 For this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“The sword of the king of Babylon

will come against you.

12 I will destroy your hordes with the swords of mighty warriors—

the terror of the nations.

They will shatter the pride of Egypt,

and all its hordes will be destroyed.

9 ‘I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you have not known. 10 Yes, I will make many peoples astonished at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they shall tremble every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.’

11 “For thus says the Lord God: ‘The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you. 12 ‘By the swords of the mighty warriors, all of them the most terrible of the nations, I will cause your multitude to fall.

“They shall plunder the pomp of Egypt,

And all its multitude shall be destroyed.

9 I will cause many people to be afraid

when I bring you as a captive into other nations,

to lands you have not known.

10 I will cause many people to be shocked about you.

Their kings will tremble with fear because of you

when I swing my sword in front of them.

They will shake every moment

on the day you fall;

each king will be afraid for his own life.

11 “ ‘So this is what the Lord God says:

The sword of the king of Babylon

will attack you.

12 I will cause your people to fall

by the swords of mighty soldiers,

the most terrible in the world.

They will destroy the pride of Egypt

and all its people.

9 I will also vex the hearts of many peoples, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known. 10 Yea, I will make many peoples amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

11 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. 12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall; the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall bring to nought the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.

9 And I will vex the heart of many peoples, when I bring the news of thy destruction among the nations, into the countries that thou hast not known. 10 And I will make many peoples amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid at thee, when I brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, each one for his life, in the day of thy fall. 11 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee. 12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall: the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall spoil the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.

9 “ ‘I will make many people troubled when I spread the news of your destruction among the nations to countries that you haven’t heard of. 10 Many people will be shocked by what I will do to you. Their kings will shudder when I swing my sword in their faces. When you die, all of them will tremble in fear for their own lives. 

11 “ ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: The sword of the king of Babylon will attack you. 12 I will cut down your people with the swords of warriors. All of them will be the most ruthless warriors among the nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt and destroy its many people.

9 I will trouble the hearts of many peoples,

when I bring about your destruction

among the nations,

in countries you do not know.

10 I will cause many nations to be appalled at you,

and their kings will shudder with fear because of you

when I brandish My sword in front of them.

On the day of your downfall

each of them will tremble

every moment for his life.

11 For this is what the Lord God says:

The sword of Babylon’s king

will come against you!

12 I will make your hordes fall

by the swords of warriors,

all of them ruthless men from the nations.

They will ravage Egypt’s pride,

and all its hordes will be destroyed.

9 I will trouble the hearts of many peoples

as I carry you captive among the nations,

into countries you have not known.

10 I will make many peoples appalled at you;

their kings shall shudder because of you.

When I brandish my sword before them,

they shall tremble every moment

for their lives, each one of them,

on the day of your downfall.

11 For thus says the Lord God:

The sword of the king of Babylon shall come against you.

12 I will cause your hordes to fall

by the swords of mighty ones,

all of them most terrible among the nations.

They shall bring to ruin the pride of Egypt,

and all its hordes shall perish.

9 “And I will disturb the hearts of many peoples

at my bringing about your captivity among the nations,

to countries that you do not know.

10 And I will cause many peoples to be awestruck over you,

and their kings will shudder over you in horror,

at my brandishing my sword before their faces,

and they will tremble continually,

each person for his life,

on the day of your downfall.”

11 For thus says the Lord Yahweh:

“The sword of the king of Babylon,

it will come to you.

12 By the swords of warriors I will cause to fall your hordes

by the most ruthless of the nations, all of them,

and they will devastate the majesty of Egypt,

and all of its hordes will be destroyed.

9 “The hearts of many people will be troubled.

That is because I will destroy you among the nations.

You had never known anything about those lands before.

10 Many nations will be shocked

when they see what has happened to you.

Their kings will tremble with fear

when they find out about it.

I will get ready to use Nebuchadnezzar

as my sword against them.

On the day you fall from power,

each of the kings will tremble with fear.

Each will be afraid he is the next to die.”

11 The Lord and King says,

“I will send against you

the sword of the king of Babylonia.

12 I will destroy your huge army.

They will be killed with the swords

of Babylonia’s mighty soldiers.

The soldiers will not show them any pity.

They will bring Egypt down in all of its pride.

Its huge armies will be thrown down.

9 “I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring your destruction among the nations, into lands which you have not known.

10 “I will make many peoples appalled at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they will tremble every moment, every man for his own life, on the day of your fall.”

11 For thus says the Lord God, “The sword of the king of Babylon will come upon you.

12 “By the swords of the mighty ones I will cause your hordes to fall; all of them are tyrants of the nations,

And they will devastate the pride of Egypt,

And all its hordes will be destroyed.
