Deuteronomy 8:5–6

5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

6 Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.

5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. 6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

5 Think about it: Just as a parent disciplines a child, the Lord your God disciplines you for your own good.

6 “So obey the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him.

5 You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.

6 “Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.

5 Know in your heart that the Lord your God corrects you as a parent corrects a child.

6 Obey the commands of the Lord your God, living as he has commanded you and respecting him.

5 And thou shalt consider in thy heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so Jehovah thy God chasteneth thee. 6 And thou shalt keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

5 And know in thy heart that, as a man chasteneth his son, so Jehovah thy God chasteneth thee; 6 and thou shalt keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

5 Learn this lesson by heart: The Lord your God was disciplining you as parents discipline their children. 6 Obey the commands of the Lord your God. Follow his directions, and fear him. 

5 Keep in mind that the Lord your God has been disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. 6 So keep the commands of the Lord your God by walking in His ways and fearing Him.

5 Know, then, in your heart that, as a parent disciplines a child, so the Lord your God disciplines you. 6 Therefore keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him.

5 And you should know with your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God is disciplining you. 6 So you must keep the commandments of Yahweh your God by walking in his ways and by fearing him.

5 Here is what I want you to know in your hearts. The Lord your God trains you, just as parents train their children.

6 Obey the commands of the Lord your God. Live as he wants you to live. Have respect for him.

5 “Thus you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.

6 “Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.
