13 you who rejoice in the conquest of Lo Debar

and say, “Did we not take Karnaim by our own strength?”

14 For the Lord God Almighty declares,

“I will stir up a nation against you, Israel,

that will oppress you all the way

from Lebo Hamath to the valley of the Arabah.”

13 Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought,

Which say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?

14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the Lord the God of hosts;

And they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.

13 And you brag about your conquest of Lo-debar.

You boast, “Didn’t we take Karnaim by our own strength?”

14 “O people of Israel, I am about to bring an enemy nation against you,”

says the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.

“They will oppress you throughout your land—

from Lebo-hamath in the north

to the Arabah Valley in the south.”

13 You who rejoice over Lo Debar,

Who say, “Have we not taken Karnaim for ourselves

By our own strength?”

14 “But, behold, I will raise up a nation against you,

O house of Israel,”

Says the Lord God of hosts;

“And they will afflict you from the entrance of Hamath

To the Valley of the Arabah.”

13 You are happy that the town of Lo Debar was captured,

and you say, “We have taken Karnaim by our own strength.”

14 The Lord God All-Powerful says,

“Israel, I will bring a nation against you

that will make your people suffer from Lebo Hamath in the north

to the valley south of the Dead Sea.”

13 ye that rejoice in a thing of nought, that say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength? 14 For, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah, the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of the Arabah.

13 —ye that rejoice in a thing of nought, that say, Have we not taken to us power by our own strength? 14 For behold, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah the God of hosts, I will raise up against you a nation; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hamath unto the torrent of the Arabah.

13 How horrible it will be for those who rejoice over Lo Debar 

and who say, “We were strong enough to capture Karnaim by ourselves.” 

14 I am going to lead a nation to attack you, nation of Israel, 

declares the Lord God of the Armies of the Nations. 

They will oppress you from the border of Hamath to the valley of Arabah. 

13 you who rejoice over Lo-debar

and say, “Didn’t we capture Karnaim

for ourselves by our own strength?”

14 But look, I am raising up a nation

against you, house of Israel —

this is the declaration of the Lord,

the God of Hosts—

and they will oppress you

from the entrance of Hamath

to the Brook of the Arabah.

13 you who rejoice in Lo-debar,

who say, “Have we not by our own strength

taken Karnaim for ourselves?”

14 Indeed, I am raising up against you a nation,

O house of Israel, says the Lord, the God of hosts,

and they shall oppress you from Lebo-hamath

to the Wadi Arabah.

13 You who rejoice over Lo-Debar, who say, “Have we not taken Karnaim for ourselves by our strength?” 14 Indeed, I am going to raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, declares Yahweh, the God of hosts. And they shall oppress you from Lebo-hamath up to the wadi of the Arabah.

13 You are happy because you captured the town of Lo Debar.

You say, “We were strong enough to take Karnaim too.”

14 But the Lord God rules over all. He announces, “People of Israel,

I will stir up a nation against you.

They will crush you from Lebo Hamath

all the way down to the Arabah Valley.”

13 You who rejoice in Lodebar,

And say, “Have we not by our own strength taken Karnaim for ourselves?”

14 “For behold, I am going to raise up a nation against you,

O house of Israel,” declares the Lord God of hosts,

“And they will afflict you from the entrance of Hamath

To the brook of the Arabah.”
