2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?

2 No! We died to our old sinful lives, so how can we continue living with sin?

2 Far be the thought. We who have died to sin, how shall we still live in it?

2 That’s unthinkable! As far as sin is concerned, we have died. So how can we still live under sin’s influence?
