Psalm 83:12–17 — New International Version (2011) (NIV)
12 who said, “Let us take possession
of the pasturelands of God.”
13 Make them like tumbleweed, my God,
like chaff before the wind.
14 As fire consumes the forest
or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your storm.
16 Cover their faces with shame, Lord,
so that they will seek your name.
17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed;
may they perish in disgrace.
Psalm 83:12–17 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
12 Who said, Let us take to ourselves
The houses of God in possession.
13 O my God, make them like a wheel;
As the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burneth a wood,
And as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15 So persecute them with thy tempest,
And make them afraid with thy storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame;
That they may seek thy name, O Lord.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled for ever;
Yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
Psalm 83:12–17 — New Living Translation (NLT)
12 for they said, “Let us seize for our own use
these pasturelands of God!”
13 O my God, scatter them like tumbleweed,
like chaff before the wind!
14 As a fire burns a forest
and as a flame sets mountains ablaze,
15 chase them with your fierce storm;
terrify them with your tempest.
16 Utterly disgrace them
until they submit to your name, O Lord.
17 Let them be ashamed and terrified forever.
Let them die in disgrace.
Psalm 83:12–17 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
12 Who said, “Let us take for ourselves
The pastures of God for a possession.”
13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust,
Like the chaff before the wind!
14 As the fire burns the woods,
And as the flame sets the mountains on fire,
15 So pursue them with Your tempest,
And frighten them with Your storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame,
That they may seek Your name, O Lord.
17 Let them be confounded and dismayed forever;
Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,
Psalm 83:12–17 — New Century Version (NCV)
12 They said, “Let’s take for ourselves
the pasturelands that belong to God.”
13 My God, make them like tumbleweed,
like chaff blown away by the wind.
14 Be like a fire that burns a forest
or like flames that blaze through the hills.
15 Chase them with your storm,
and frighten them with your wind.
16 Cover them with shame.
Then people will look for you, Lord.
17 Make them afraid and ashamed forever.
Disgrace them and destroy them.
Psalm 83:12–17 — American Standard Version (ASV)

The habitations of God.
13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust;
As stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire that burneth the forest,
And as the flame that setteth the mountains on fire,
15 So pursue them with thy tempest,
And terrify them with thy storm.
16 Fill their faces with confusion,
That they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.
17 Let them be put to shame and dismayed for ever;
Yea, let them be confounded and perish;
Psalm 83:12–17 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
12 For they have said, Let us take to ourselves God’s dwelling-places in possession. 13 O my God, make them like a whirling thing, like stubble before the wind. 14 As fire burneth a forest, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire, 15 So pursue them with thy tempest, and terrify them with thy whirlwind. 16 Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek thy name, O Jehovah. 17 Let them be put to shame and be dismayed for ever, and let them be confounded and perish:
