Psalm 83:4–9 — The New International Version (NIV)

“Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation,

so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.”

With one mind they plot together;

they form an alliance against you—

the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,

of Moab and the Hagrites,

Byblos, Ammon and Amalek,

Philistia, with the people of Tyre.

Even Assyria has joined them

to reinforce Lot’s descendants.

Do to them as you did to Midian,

as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,

Psalm 83:4–9 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation;

That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

For they have consulted together with one consent:

They are confederate against thee:

The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites;

Of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek;

The Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Assur also is joined with them:

They have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

Do unto them as unto the Midianites;

As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

Psalm 83:4–9 — New Living Translation (NLT)

“Come,” they say, “let us wipe out Israel as a nation.

We will destroy the very memory of its existence.”

Yes, this was their unanimous decision.

They signed a treaty as allies against you—

these Edomites and Ishmaelites;

Moabites and Hagrites;

Gebalites, Ammonites, and Amalekites;

and people from Philistia and Tyre.

Assyria has joined them, too,

and is allied with the descendants of Lot.

Interlude

Do to them as you did to the Midianites

and as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River.

Psalm 83:4–9 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,

That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

For they have consulted together with one consent;

They form a confederacy against You:

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;

Moab and the Hagrites;

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;

Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

Assyria also has joined with them;

They have helped the children of Lot.

Selah

Deal with them as with Midian,

As with Sisera,

As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon,

Psalm 83:4–9 — New Century Version (NCV)

They say, “Come, let’s destroy them as a nation.

Then no one will ever remember the name ‘Israel.’ ”

They are united in their plan.

These have made an agreement against you:

the families of Edom and the Ishmaelites,

Moab and the Hagrites,

the people of Byblos, Ammon, Amalek,

Philistia, and Tyre.

Even Assyria has joined them

to help Ammon and Moab, the descendants of Lot.

Selah

God, do to them what you did to Midian,

what you did to Sisera and Jabin at the Kishon River.

Psalm 83:4–9 — American Standard Version (ASV)

They have said,

Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation;

For they have consulted together with one consent;

Against thee do they make a covenant:

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;

Moab, and the Hagarenes;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek;

Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre:

Assyria also is joined with them;

They have helped the children of Lot. Selah

Do thou unto them as unto Midian,

As to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

Psalm 83:4–9 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)

They say, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, and let the name of Israel be mentioned no more. For they have consulted together with one heart: they have made an alliance together against thee. The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia, with the inhabitants of Tyre; Asshur also is joined with them: they are an arm to the sons of Lot. They form an alliance against you:

the tents from Edom and Ishmael,

Moab and Hagar,

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek,

Philistia, along with those who live in Tyre.

Even Assyria has joined them.

They helped the descendants of Lot.

they lend support to the sons of Lot. Selah

as You did with Sisera

and Jabin at the Kishon River.

so that the name of Israel will be remembered no more.”

For they have consulted together with a unified purpose.

They have made a covenant against you:

the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,

Moab and the Hagrites,

Gebal and Ammon and Amalek,

Philistia, with the inhabitants of Tyre.

Assyria also has joined with them.

They provide help to the children of Lot. Selah

They have become a help to the children of Lot.
