Psalm 81:3–5 — The New International Version (NIV)
3 Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon,
and when the moon is full, on the day of our festival;
4 this is a decree for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5 When God went out against Egypt,
he established it as a statute for Joseph.
I heard an unknown voice say:
Psalm 81:3–5 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon,
In the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
4 For this was a statute for Israel,
And a law of the God of Jacob.
5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony,
When he went out through the land of Egypt:
Where I heard a language that I understood not.
Psalm 81:3–5 — New Living Translation (NLT)
3 Blow the ram’s horn at new moon,
and again at full moon to call a festival!
4 For this is required by the decrees of Israel;
it is a regulation of the God of Jacob.
5 He made it a law for Israel
when he attacked Egypt to set us free.
I heard an unknown voice say,
Psalm 81:3–5 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
3 Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon,
At the full moon, on our solemn feast day.
4 For this is a statute for Israel,
A law of the God of Jacob.
5 This He established in Joseph as a testimony,
When He went throughout the land of Egypt,
Where I heard a language I did not understand.
Psalm 81:3–5 — New Century Version (NCV)
3 Blow the trumpet at the time of the New Moon,
when the moon is full, when our feast begins.
4 This is the law for Israel;
it is the command of the God of Jacob.
5 He gave this rule to the people of Joseph
when they went out of the land of Egypt.
I heard a language I did not know, saying:
Psalm 81:3–5 — American Standard Version (ASV)
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon,
At the full moon, on our feast-day.
4 For it is a statute for Israel,
An ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5 He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony,
When he went out over the land of Egypt,
Where I heard a language that I knew not.
Psalm 81:3–5 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the set time, on our feast day: 4 For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob; 5 He ordained it in Joseph for a testimony, when he went forth over the land of Egypt, where I heard a language that I knew not.
Psalm 81:3–5 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
3 Blow the ram’s horn on the day of the new moon,
on the day of the full moon,
on our festival days.
4 This is a law for Israel,
a legal decision from the God of Jacob.
5 These are the instructions God set in place for Joseph
when Joseph rose to power over Egypt.
I heard a message I did not understand:
Psalm 81:3–5 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
3 Blow the horn on the day of our feasts
during the new moon
and during the full moon.
4 For this is a statute for Israel,
a judgment of the God of Jacob.
5 He set it up as an ordinance for Joseph
when He went throughout the land of Egypt.
I heard an unfamiliar language:
Psalm 81:3–5 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon,
at the full moon, on our festal day.
4 For it is a statute for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5 He made it a decree in Joseph,
when he went out over the land of Egypt.
I hear a voice I had not known:
Psalm 81:3–5 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
3 Blow the horn at new moon,
at full moon, for our feast day,
4 because it is a statute for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5 He made it a statute in Joseph
when he went out against the land of Egypt,
where I heard a language I did not know.
Psalm 81:3–5 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
3 Blow the ram’s horn on the day of the New Moon Feast.
Blow it again when the moon is full and the Feast of Booths begins.
4 This is an order given to Israel.
It is a law of the God of Jacob.
5 He gave it as a covenant law for the people of Joseph
when God went out to punish Egypt.
There we heard a language we didn’t understand.
Psalm 81:3–5 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)
3 Blow the trumpet at the new moon,
At the full moon, on our feast day.
4 For it is a statute for Israel,
An ordinance of the God of Jacob.
5 He established it for a testimony in Joseph
When he went throughout the land of Egypt.
I heard a language that I did not know:
