Psalm 51:2–5 — The New International Version (NIV)
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge.
5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
Psalm 51:2–5 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity,
And cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions:
And my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in thy sight:
That thou mightest be justified when thou speakest,
And be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity;
And in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psalm 51:2–5 — New Living Translation (NLT)
2 Wash me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin.
3 For I recognize my rebellion;
it haunts me day and night.
4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned;
I have done what is evil in your sight.
You will be proved right in what you say,
and your judgment against me is just.
5 For I was born a sinner—
yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.
Psalm 51:2–5 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

And cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions,
And my sin is always before me.
4 Against You, You only, have I sinned,
And done this evil in Your sight—
That You may be found just when You speak,
And blameless when You judge.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.
Psalm 51:2–5 — New Century Version (NCV)

I have done what you say is wrong.
You are right when you speak
and fair when you judge.
5 I was brought into this world in sin.
In sin my mother gave birth to me.

And done that which is evil in thy sight;
That thou mayest be justified when thou speakest,
And be clear when thou judgest.

And in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psalm 51:2–5 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
2 Wash me fully from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is continually before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done what is evil in thy sight; that thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, be clear when thou judgest. 5 Behold, in iniquity was I brought forth, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psalm 51:2–5 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

and cleanse me from my sin.
3 I admit that I am rebellious.
My sin is always in front of me.

5 Indeed, I was born guilty.
I was a sinner when my mother conceived me.

I’ve done what is evil in your sight.

You are fair when you judge me.

I’ve been a sinner ever since my mother became pregnant with me.
