I am silent before them as one who cannot speak.
14 I choose to hear nothing,
and I make no reply.

14 Thus I am like a man who does not hear,
And in whose mouth is no response.

I’m like someone who can’t speak, who can’t say a word.
14 I’m like a man who doesn’t hear.
I’m like someone whose mouth can’t make any reply.
