Psalm 7:1–7 — The New International Version (NIV)

Lord my God, I take refuge in you;

save and deliver me from all who pursue me,

or they will tear me apart like a lion

and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me.

Lord my God, if I have done this

and there is guilt on my hands—

if I have repaid my ally with evil

or without cause have robbed my foe—

then let my enemy pursue and overtake me;

let him trample my life to the ground

and make me sleep in the dust.

Arise, Lord, in your anger;

rise up against the rage of my enemies.

Awake, my God; decree justice.

Let the assembled peoples gather around you,

while you sit enthroned over them on high.

Psalm 7:1–7 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust:

Save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

Lest he tear my soul like a lion,

Rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

O Lord my God, if I have done this;

If there be iniquity in my hands;

If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me;

(Yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)

Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it;

Yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth,

And lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

Arise, O Lord, in thine anger,

Lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies:

And awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.

So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about:

For their sakes therefore return thou on high.

Psalm 7:1–7 — New Living Translation (NLT)

I come to you for protection, O Lord my God.

Save me from my persecutors—rescue me!

If you don’t, they will maul me like a lion,

tearing me to pieces with no one to rescue me.

O Lord my God, if I have done wrong

or am guilty of injustice,

if I have betrayed a friend

or plundered my enemy without cause,

then let my enemies capture me.

Let them trample me into the ground

and drag my honor in the dust.

Interlude

Arise, O Lord, in anger!

Stand up against the fury of my enemies!

Wake up, my God, and bring justice!

Gather the nations before you.

Rule over them from on high.

Psalm 7:1–7 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me;

And deliver me,

Lest they tear me like a lion,

Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

O Lord my God, if I have done this:

If there is iniquity in my hands,

If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me,

Or have plundered my enemy without cause,

Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me;

Yes, let him trample my life to the earth,

And lay my honor in the dust.

Selah

Arise, O Lord, in Your anger;

Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies;

Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!

So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You;

For their sakes, therefore, return on high.

Psalm 7:1–7 — New Century Version (NCV)

Lord my God, I trust in you for protection.

Save me and rescue me

from those who are chasing me.

Otherwise, like a lion they will tear me apart.

They will rip me to pieces, and no one can save me.

Lord my God, what have I done?

Have my hands done something wrong?

Have I done wrong to my friend

or stolen without reason from my enemy?

If I have, let my enemy chase me and capture me.

Let him trample me into the dust

and bury me in the ground.

Selah

Lord, rise up in your anger;

stand up against my enemies’ anger.

Get up and demand fairness.

Gather the nations around you

and rule them from above.

Psalm 7:1–7 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Save me from all them that pursue me, and deliver me,

Lest they tear my soul like a lion,

Rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

O Jehovah my God, if I have done this;

If there be iniquity in my hands;

If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me

(Yea, I have delivered him that without cause was mine adversary);

Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it;

Yea, let him tread my life down to the earth,

And lay my glory in the dust. Selah

Arise, O Jehovah, in thine anger;

Lift up thyself against the rage of mine adversaries,

And awake for me; thou hast commanded judgment.

And let the congregation of the peoples compass thee about;

And over them return thou on high.

Jehovah my God, in thee have I trusted: save me from all my pursuers, and deliver me; Lest he tear my soul like a lion, crushing it while there is no deliverer. Jehovah my God, if I have done this, if there be iniquity in my hands; If I have rewarded evil to him that was at peace with me; (indeed I have freed him that without cause oppressed me;) Let the enemy pursue after my soul, and take it, and let him tread down my life to the earth, and lay my glory in the dust. Selah. Arise, Jehovah, in thine anger; lift thyself up against the raging of mine oppressors, and awake for me: thou hast commanded judgment. And the assembly of the peoples shall encompass thee; and for their sakes return thou on high.

Like a lion they will tear me to pieces

and drag me off with no one to rescue me.

O Lord my God,

if I have done this—

if my hands are stained with injustice,

if I have paid back my friend with evil

or rescued someone who has no reason to attack me—

then let the enemy chase me and catch me.

Let him trample my life into the ground.

Let him lay my honor in the dust.

Stand up against the fury of my attackers.

save me from all my pursuers and rescue me

or they will tear me like a lion,

ripping me apart with no one to rescue me.

Yahweh my God, if I have done this,

if there is injustice on my hands,

if I have done harm to one at peace with me

or have plundered my adversary without cause,

may an enemy pursue and overtake me;

may he trample me to the ground

and leave my honor in the dust. Selah

lift Yourself up against the fury of my adversaries;

You have ordained a judgment.

let the enemy of my soul pursue,

Lord my God, suppose I have done something wrong.

Suppose I am guilty.

I have done evil to my friend.

Or I have robbed my enemy without any reason.

If I have done any of those things, let my enemy chase me and catch me.

Let him walk all over me.
