Psalm 38:14–16
Psalm 38:14–16 — New International Version (2011) (NIV)
14 I have become like one who does not hear,
whose mouth can offer no reply.
15 Lord, I wait for you;
you will answer, Lord my God.
16 For I said, “Do not let them gloat
or exalt themselves over me when my feet slip.”
Psalm 38:14–16 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not,
And in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 For in thee, O Lord, do I hope:
Thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me:
When my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
Psalm 38:14–16 — New Living Translation (NLT)

and I make no reply.
15 For I am waiting for you, O Lord.

16 I prayed, “Don’t let my enemies gloat over me
or rejoice at my downfall.”
Psalm 38:14–16 — The New King James Version (NKJV)

And in whose mouth is no response.

Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.”

or brag when I am defeated.”
Psalm 38:14–16 — American Standard Version (ASV)

And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.
16 For I said, Lest they rejoice over me:
When my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
Psalm 38:14–16 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
14 Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. 15 For in thee, Jehovah, do I hope: thou wilt answer, O Lord my God. 16 For I said, Let them not rejoice over me! When my foot slipped, they magnified themselves against me.
Psalm 38:14–16 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

When my foot slips,
do not let them promote themselves at my expense.”

those who are arrogant toward me when I stumble.”

it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.
16 For I pray, “Only do not let them rejoice over me,
those who boast against me when my foot slips.”

lest they boast against me when my foot slips.”

Don’t let them brag when my foot slips.”

Who, when my foot slips, would magnify themselves against me.”
