Psalm 102:18–22 — The New International Version (NIV)
18 Let this be written for a future generation,
that a people not yet created may praise the Lord:
19 “The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high,
from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners
and release those condemned to death.”
21 So the name of the Lord will be declared in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem
22 when the peoples and the kingdoms
assemble to worship the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
18 This shall be written for the generation to come: And the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord. 19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; From heaven did the Lord behold the earth; 20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; To loose those that are appointed to death; 21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, And his praise in Jerusalem; 22 When the people are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — New Living Translation (NLT)
18 Let this be recorded for future generations,
so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.
19 Tell them the Lord looked down
from his heavenly sanctuary.
He looked down to earth from heaven
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners,
to release those condemned to die.
21 And so the Lord’s fame will be celebrated in Zion,
his praises in Jerusalem,
22 when multitudes gather together
and kingdoms come to worship the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
18 This will be written for the generation to come,
That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.
19 For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
From heaven the Lord viewed the earth,
20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner,
To release those appointed to death,
21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion,
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 When the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — New Century Version (NCV)
18 Write these things for the future
so that people who are not yet born will praise the Lord.
19 The Lord looked down from his holy place above;
from heaven he looked down at the earth.
20 He heard the moans of the prisoners,
and he freed those sentenced to die.
21 The name of the Lord will be heard in Jerusalem;
his praise will be heard there.
22 People will come together,
and kingdoms will serve the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — American Standard Version (ASV)
18 This shall be written for the generation to come;
And a people which shall be created shall praise Jehovah.
19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary;
From heaven did Jehovah behold the earth;
20 To hear the sighing of the prisoner;
To loose those that are appointed to death;
21 That men may declare the name of Jehovah in Zion,
And his praise in Jerusalem;
22 When the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.
Psalm 102:18–22 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
18 This shall be written for the generation to come; and a people that shall be created shall praise Jah: 19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from the heavens hath Jehovah beheld the earth, 20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to loose those that are appointed to die; 21 That the name of Jehovah may be declared in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem, 22 When the peoples shall be gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.
Psalm 102:18–22 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
18 This will be written down for a future generation
so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord:
19 “The Lord looked down from his holy place high above.
From heaven he looked at the earth.
20 He heard the groans of the prisoners
and set free those who were condemned to death.
21 The Lord’s name is announced in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem
22 when nations and kingdoms gather
to worship the Lord.”
Psalm 102:18–22 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
18 This will be written for a later generation,
and a newly created people will praise the Lord:
19 He looked down from His holy heights—
the Lord gazed out from heaven to earth —
20 to hear a prisoner’s groaning,
to set free those condemned to die,
21 so that they might declare
the name of Yahweh in Zion
and His praise in Jerusalem,
22 when peoples and kingdoms are assembled
to serve the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
18 Let this be recorded for a generation to come,
so that a people yet unborn may praise the Lord:
19 that he looked down from his holy height,
from heaven the Lord looked at the earth,
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners,
to set free those who were doomed to die;
21 so that the name of the Lord may be declared in Zion,
and his praise in Jerusalem,
22 when peoples gather together,
and kingdoms, to worship the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
18 Let this be written for the next generation,
so that a people yet to be created may praise Yah,
19 that he looked down from his holy height.
Yahweh looked from heaven over the earth
20 to hear the groaning of the prisoner,
to liberate those destined to die,
21 so that they may make known in Zion the name of Yahweh,
and his praise in Jerusalem,
22 when the peoples assemble,
together with kingdoms, to serve Yahweh.
Psalm 102:18–22 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
18 Let this be written down for those born after us.
Then people who are not yet born can praise the Lord.
19 Here is what should be written.
“The Lord looked down from his temple in heaven.
From heaven he viewed the earth.
20 He heard the groans of the prisoners.
He set free those who were sentenced to death.”
21 So people will talk about him in Zion.
They will praise him in Jerusalem.
22 Nations and kingdoms
will gather there to worship the Lord.
Psalm 102:18–22 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)
18 This will be written for the generation to come,
That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.
19 For He looked down from His holy height;
From heaven the Lord gazed upon the earth,
20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner,
To set free those who were doomed to death,
21 That men may tell of the name of the Lord in Zion
And His praise in Jerusalem,
22 When the peoples are gathered together,
And the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.
