14 The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai, 15 “Count the Levites by their families and clans. Count every male a month old or more.” 16 So Moses counted them, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

17 These were the names of the sons of Levi:

Gershon, Kohath and Merari.

18 These were the names of the Gershonite clans:

Libni and Shimei.

19 The Kohathite clans:

Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

20 The Merarite clans:

Mahli and Mushi.

These were the Levite clans, according to their families.

14 And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying, 15 Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. 16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded. 17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. 18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families; Libni, and Shimei. 19 And the sons of Kohath by their families; Amram, and Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 20 And the sons of Merari by their families; Mahli, and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers.

14 The Lord spoke again to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai. He said, 15 “Record the names of the members of the tribe of Levi by their families and clans. List every male who is one month old or older.” 16 So Moses listed them, just as the Lord had commanded.

17 Levi had three sons, whose names were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

18 The clans descended from Gershon were named after two of his descendants, Libni and Shimei.

19 The clans descended from Kohath were named after four of his descendants, Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20 The clans descended from Merari were named after two of his descendants, Mahli and Mushi.

These were the Levite clans, listed according to their family groups.

14 Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, saying: 15 “Number the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families; you shall number every male from a month old and above.”

16 So Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded. 17 These were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei. 19 And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram, Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 20 And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites by their fathers’ houses.

14 The Lord again said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai, 15 “Count the Levites by families and family groups. Count every male one month old or older.” 16 So Moses obeyed the Lord and counted them all.

17 Levi had three sons, whose names were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

18 The Gershonite family groups were Libni and Shimei.

19 The Kohathite family groups were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

20 The Merarite family groups were Mahli and Mushi.

These were the family groups of the Levites.

These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ houses.

14 And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying, 15 Number the sons of Levi according to their fathers’ houses, after their families; every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them. 16 And Moses numbered them, according to the commandment of Jehovah, —as he had been commanded. 17 And these are the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. 18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon according to their families: Libni and Shimei. 19 And the sons of Kohath according to their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. 20 And the sons of Merari according to their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ houses.

14 The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai, 15 “Count the Levites by households and families. Count every male who is at least one month old.” 16 So Moses did what the Lord said and registered them as he had been commanded. 

17 Gershon, Kohath, and Merari were the sons of Levi. 

18 Libni and Shimei were the sons of Gershon. Their families were named after them. 

19 Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel were the sons of Kohath. Their families were named after them. 

20 Mahli and Mushi were the sons of Merari. Their families were named after them. 

These were the households of Levite families. 

14 The Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai: 15 “Register the Levites by their ancestral houses and their clans. You are to register every male one month old or more.” 16 So Moses registered them in obedience to the Lord as he had been commanded:

17 These were Levi’s sons by name: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 18 These were the names of Gershon’s sons by their clans: Libni and Shimei. 19 Kohath’s sons by their clans were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 20 Merari’s sons by their clans were Mahli and Mushi. These were the Levite clans by their ancestral houses.

14 Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying: 15 Enroll the Levites by ancestral houses and by clans. You shall enroll every male from a month old and upward. 16 So Moses enrolled them according to the word of the Lord, as he was commanded. 17 The following were the sons of Levi, by their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 18 These are the names of the sons of Gershon by their clans: Libni and Shimei. 19 The sons of Kohath by their clans: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 20 The sons of Merari by their clans: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of the Levites, by their ancestral houses.

14 Yahweh spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, saying, 15 “Muster the descendants of Levi according to their families, according to their clans. You will count every male from one month and above.” 16 So Moses mustered them according to the command of Yahweh, just as he commanded. 17 These were the sons of Levi according to their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon according to their clans: Libni and Shimei. 19 And the sons of Kohath according to their clans: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. 20 The sons of Merari according to their tribes: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of the Levites according to their families.

14 The Lord spoke to Moses in the Desert of Sinai. He said, 15 “Count the Levites by their family groups. Count every male who is a month old or more.” 16 So Moses counted them. He did just as the word of the Lord had commanded him.

17 The sons of Levi were

Gershon, Kohath and Merari.

18 The major families from Gershon were

Libni and Shimei.

19 The major families from Kohath were

Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

20 The major families from Merari were

Mahli and Mushi.

Those were the major families of the Levites.

14 Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15 “Number the sons of Levi by their fathers’ households, by their families; every male from a month old and upward you shall number.”

16 So Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord, just as he had been commanded.

17 These then are the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.

18 These are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei;

19 and the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel;

20 and the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers’ households.
