13 telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”

13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. 14 And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

13 They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’ 14 If the governor hears about it, we’ll stand up for you so you won’t get in trouble.”

13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and make you secure.”

13 and said to them, “Tell the people that Jesus’ followers came during the night and stole the body while you were asleep. 14 If the governor hears about this, we will satisfy him and save you from trouble.”

13 saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. 14 And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and rid you of care.

13 saying, Say that his disciples coming by night stole him while we were sleeping. 14 And if this should come to the hearing of the governor, we will persuade him, and save you from all anxiety.

13 and told them to say that Jesus’ disciples had come at night and had stolen his body while they were sleeping. 14 ⸤They added,⸥ “If the governor hears about it, we’ll take care of it, and you’ll have nothing to worry about.” 

13 and told them, “Say this, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole Him while we were sleeping.’ 14 If this reaches the governor’s ears, we will deal with him and keep you out of trouble.”

13 telling them, “You must say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”

13 telling them, “Say ‘His disciples came during the night and stole him while we were sleeping.’ 14 And if this matter is heard before the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”

13 They told the soldiers, “We want you to say, ‘His disciples came during the night. They stole his body while we were sleeping.’ 14 If the governor hears this report, we will pay him off. That will keep you out of trouble.”

13 and said, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came by night and stole Him away while we were asleep.’

14 “And if this should come to the governor’s ears, we will win him over and keep you out of trouble.”
