Mark 12:35–36 — The New International Version (NIV)
35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared:

“Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your feet.” ’
Mark 12:35–36 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Mark 12:35–36 — New Living Translation (NLT)
35 Later, as Jesus was teaching the people in the Temple, he asked, “Why do the teachers of religious law claim that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 For David himself, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said,
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit in the place of honor at my right hand
until I humble your enemies beneath your feet.’
Mark 12:35–36 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
35 Then Jesus answered and said, while He taught in the temple, “How is it that the scribes say that the Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Spirit:
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ’
Mark 12:35–36 — New Century Version (NCV)
35 As Jesus was teaching in the Temple, he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Christ is the son of David? 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, said:

until I put your enemies under your control.” ’
Mark 12:35–36 — American Standard Version (ASV)

Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.
Mark 12:35–36 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
35 And Jesus answering said as he was teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say that the Christ is son of David? 36 for David himself said speaking in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand until I put thine enemies as footstool of thy feet.
Mark 12:35–36 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courtyard, he asked, “How can the experts in Moses’ Teachings say that the Messiah is David’s son? 36 David, guided by the Holy Spirit, said,
‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Take the honored position—the one next to me [God the Father] on the heavenly throne—
until I put your enemies under your control.” ’
Mark 12:35–36 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
35 So Jesus asked this question as He taught in the temple complex, “How can the scribes say that the Messiah is the Son of David? 36 David himself says by the Holy Spirit:
The Lord declared to my Lord,
‘Sit at My right hand
until I put Your enemies under Your feet.’
Mark 12:35–36 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

until I put your enemies
under your feet.” ’

until I put your enemies
under your control.” ’
Mark 12:35–36 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)
