22 Say, “This is what the Lord declares:

“ ‘Dead bodies will lie

like dung on the open field,

like cut grain behind the reaper,

with no one to gather them.’ ”

23 This is what the Lord says:

“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom

or the strong boast of their strength

or the rich boast of their riches,

24 but let the one who boasts boast about this:

that they have the understanding to know me,

that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness,

justice and righteousness on earth,

for in these I delight,”

declares the Lord.

25 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh—

22 Speak, Thus saith the Lord,

Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field,

And as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.

23 Thus saith the Lord,

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,

Neither let the mighty man glory in his might,

Let not the rich man glory in his riches:

24 But let him that glorieth glory in this,

That he understandeth and knoweth me,

That I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth:

For in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

25 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,

That I will punish all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;

22 This is what the Lord says:

“Bodies will be scattered across the fields like clumps of manure,

like bundles of grain after the harvest.

No one will be left to bury them.”

23 This is what the Lord says:

“Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom,

or the powerful boast in their power,

or the rich boast in their riches.

24 But those who wish to boast

should boast in this alone:

that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord

who demonstrates unfailing love

and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth,

and that I delight in these things.

I, the Lord, have spoken!

25 “A time is coming,” says the Lord, “when I will punish all those who are circumcised in body but not in spirit—

22 Speak, “Thus says the Lord:

‘Even the carcasses of men shall fall as refuse on the open field,

Like cuttings after the harvester,

And no one shall gather them.’ ”

23 Thus says the Lord:

“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,

Let not the mighty man glory in his might,

Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;

24 But let him who glories glory in this,

That he understands and knows Me,

That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.

For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

25 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “that I will punish all who are circumcised with the uncircumcised—

22 Say, “This is what the Lord says:

They will lie like grain a farmer has cut,

but there will be no one to gather them.’ ”

23 This is what the Lord says:

“The wise must not brag about their wisdom.

The strong must not brag about their strength.

The rich must not brag about their money.

24 But if people want to brag, let them brag

that they understand and know me.

Let them brag that I am the Lord,

and that I am kind and fair,

and that I do things that are right on earth.

This kind of bragging pleases me,” says the Lord.

25 The Lord says, “The time is coming when I will punish all those who are circumcised only in the flesh:

22 Speak, Thus saith Jehovah, The dead bodies of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman; and none shall gather them.

23 Thus saith Jehovah, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; 24 but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he hath understanding, and knoweth me, that I am Jehovah who exerciseth lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah.

25 Behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will punish all them that are circumcised in their uncircumcision:

23 Thus saith Jehovah: Let not the wise glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty glory in his might; let not the rich glory in his riches: 24 but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am Jehovah, who exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah. 25 Behold, days are coming, saith Jehovah, when I will visit all them that are circumcised with the uncircumcised;

22 This is what the Lord says: 

Dead bodies will fall like manure on the field. 

They will be like grain that has been cut but not gathered. 

23 This is what the Lord says: 

Don’t let wise people brag about their wisdom. 

Don’t let strong people brag about their strength. 

Don’t let rich people brag about their riches. 

24 If they want to brag, they should brag that they understand and know me. 

They should brag that I, the Lord, act out of love, righteousness, 

and justice on the earth. 

This kind of bragging pleases me, declares the Lord. 

25 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, 

“when I will punish all who are circumcised. 

22 Speak as follows:

This is what the Lord says:

Human corpses will fall

like manure on the surface of the field,

like newly cut grain after the reaper

with no one to gather it.

23 This is what the Lord says:

The wise man must not boast in his wisdom;

the strong man must not boast in his strength;

the wealthy man must not boast in his wealth.

24 But the one who boasts should boast in this,

that he understands and knows Me —

that I am Yahweh, showing faithful love,

justice, and righteousness on the earth,

for I delight in these things.

This is the Lord’s declaration.

25 “The days are coming”—the Lord’s declaration—“when I will punish all the circumcised yet uncircumcised:

22 Speak! Thus says the Lord:

“Human corpses shall fall

like dung upon the open field,

like sheaves behind the reaper,

and no one shall gather them.”

23 Thus says the Lord: Do not let the wise boast in their wisdom, do not let the mighty boast in their might, do not let the wealthy boast in their wealth; 24 but let those who boast boast in this, that they understand and know me, that I am the Lord; I act with steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight, says the Lord.

25 The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will attend to all those who are circumcised only in the foreskin:

22 Speak, ‘thus declares Yahweh:

“The dead body of the human will fall

like dung upon the surface of the field,

and like cut grain behind the reaper,

and there is no one who gathers.” ’ ”

23 Thus says Yahweh,

“The wise man must not boast in his wisdom,

and the warrior must not boast in his might,

the wealthy man must not boast in his wealth.

24 But only in this must the one who boasts boast,

that he has insight,

and that he knows me,

that I am Yahweh,

showing loyal love, justice, and righteousness on the earth,

for in these things I delight,” declares Yahweh.

25 “Look, days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “and I will call into account all those who are circumcised in the foreskin:

22 Say, “The Lord announces,

“ ‘The dead bodies of men will be like trash

lying in the open fields.

They will lie there like grain

that is cut down at harvest time.

No one will gather them up.’ ”

23 The Lord says,

“Do not let a wise man brag about how wise he is.

Do not let a strong man boast about how strong he is.

Do not let a rich person brag about how rich he is.

24 But here is what the one who brags should boast about.

He should brag that he has understanding and knows me.

I want him to know that I am the Lord.

No matter what I do on earth, I am always kind, fair and right.

And I take delight in that,”

announces the Lord.

25 “The days are coming when I will judge people,” announces the Lord. “I will punish all those who are circumcised only in their bodies.

22 Speak, “Thus says the Lord,

‘The corpses of men will fall like dung on the open field,

And like the sheaf after the reaper,

But no one will gather them.’ ”

23 Thus says the Lord, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches;
