29 The bellows blow fiercely

to burn away the lead with fire,

but the refining goes on in vain;

the wicked are not purged out.

30 They are called rejected silver,

because the Lord has rejected them.”

29 The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away. 30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them.

29 The bellows fiercely fan the flames

to burn out the corruption.

But it does not purify them,

for the wickedness remains.

30 I will label them ‘Rejected Silver,’

for I, the Lord, am discarding them.”

29 The bellows blow fiercely,

The lead is consumed by the fire;

The smelter refines in vain,

For the wicked are not drawn off.

30 People will call them rejected silver,

Because the Lord has rejected them.”

29 The fire is fanned to make it hotter,

but the lead does not melt.

The pure metal does not come out;

the evil is not removed from my people.

30 My people will be called rejected silver,

because the Lord has rejected them.”

29 The bellows blow fiercely; the lead is consumed of the fire: in vain do they go on refining; for the wicked are not plucked away. 30 Refuse silver shall men call them, because Jehovah hath rejected them.

29 The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed by the fire; they have melted, and melted in vain; and the bad are not plucked away. 30 Reprobate silver shall they call them, for Jehovah hath rejected them.

29 The bellows of the blast furnace blow fiercely 

to make the fire melt away the lead. 

It is useless to go on refining 

because the impurities can’t be removed. 

30 ⸤People⸥ will call them useless silver 

because the Lord has rejected them.” 

29 The bellows blow,

blasting the lead with fire.

The refining is completely in vain;

the evil ones are not separated out.

30 They are called rejected silver,

for the Lord has rejected them.

29 The bellows blow fiercely,

the lead is consumed by the fire;

in vain the refining goes on,

for the wicked are not removed.

30 They are called “rejected silver,”

for the Lord has rejected them.

29 The bellows are burned up,

lead is consumed by fire.

In vain he keeps on refining,

but the wicked are not torn apart.

30 They are called rejected silver,

For Yahweh has rejected them.”

29 The fire is made very hot

so the lead will burn away.

But it is impossible to make those people pure.

Those who are evil are not removed.

30 They are like silver that is thrown away.

That is because I have not accepted them.”
