1 This is what the Lord says:

“See, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer

against Babylon and the people of Leb Kamai.

2 I will send foreigners to Babylon

to winnow her and to devastate her land;

they will oppose her on every side

in the day of her disaster.

1 Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, And against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, A destroying wind; 2 And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, And shall empty her land: For in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.

1 This is what the Lord says:

“I will stir up a destroyer against Babylon

and the people of Babylonia.

2 Foreigners will come and winnow her,

blowing her away as chaff.

They will come from every side

to rise against her in her day of trouble.

1 Thus says the Lord:

“Behold, I will raise up against Babylon,

Against those who dwell in Leb Kamai,

A destroying wind.

2 And I will send winnowers to Babylon,

Who shall winnow her and empty her land.

For in the day of doom

They shall be against her all around.

1 This is what the Lord says:

“I will soon cause a destroying wind to blow

against Babylon and the Babylonian people.

2 I will send foreign people to destroy Babylon

like a wind that blows chaff away.

They will destroy the land.

Armies will surround the city

when the day of disaster comes upon her.

1 Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in Leb-kamai, a destroying wind. 2 And I will send unto Babylon strangers, that shall winnow her; and they shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.

1 Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the heart of those that rise against me, a destroying wind; 2 and I will send unto Babylon strangers, who shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.

1 This is what the Lord says: 

I will stir up a destructive wind against Babylon 

and against the people who live in Leb Kamai. 

2 I will send people to winnowBabylon, 

to winnow it and strip its land bare. 

They will attack it from every direction on the day of trouble. 

1 This is what the Lord says:

I am about to stir up a destructive wind against Babylon

and against the population of Leb-qamai.

2 I will send strangers to Babylon

who will scatter her and strip her land bare,

for they will come against her

from every side in the day of disaster.

1 Thus says the Lord:

I am going to stir up a destructive wind

against Babylon

and against the inhabitants of Leb-qamai;

2 and I will send winnowers to Babylon,

and they shall winnow her.

They shall empty her land

when they come against her from every side

on the day of trouble.

1 Thus says Yahweh:

“Look, I am going to stir up against Babylon

and against the inhabitants of Leb-qamai a destructive wind.

2 And I will send winnowers to Babylon,

and they will winnow her,

and they will lay waste her land,

for they will be against her from all sides on the day of disaster.

1 The Lord says,

“I will stir up the spirits of destroyers.

They will march out against Babylonia and its people.

2 I will send other nations against it

to separate the straw from the grain.

I will send them to destroy Babylonia completely.

They will oppose it on every side.

At that time it will be destroyed.

1 Thus says the Lord:

“Behold, I am going to arouse against Babylon

And against the inhabitants of Leb-kamai

The spirit of a destroyer.

2 “I will dispatch foreigners to Babylon that they may winnow her

And may devastate her land;

For on every side they will be opposed to her

In the day of her calamity.
