36 “So my heart laments for Moab like the music of a pipe;

it laments like a pipe for the people of Kir Hareseth.

The wealth they acquired is gone.

37 Every head is shaved

and every beard cut off;

every hand is slashed

and every waist is covered with sackcloth.

36 Therefore mine heart shall sound for Moab like pipes,

And mine heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kir-heres:

Because the riches that he hath gotten are perished.

37 For every head shall be bald,

And every beard clipped:

Upon all the hands shall be cuttings,

And upon the loins sackcloth.

36 My heart moans like a flute for Moab and Kir-hareseth, for all their wealth has disappeared. 37 The people shave their heads and beards in mourning. They slash their hands and put on clothes made of burlap.

36 Therefore My heart shall wail like flutes for Moab,

And like flutes My heart shall wail

For the men of Kir Heres.

Therefore the riches they have acquired have perished.

37 “For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped;

On all the hands shall be cuts, and on the loins sackcloth—

36 “My heart cries sadly for Moab like a flute playing a funeral song.

It cries like a flute for the people from Kir Hareseth.

The money they made has all been taken away.

37 Every head has been shaved

and every beard cut off.

Everyone’s hands are cut,

and everyone wears rough cloth around his waist.

36 Therefore my heart soundeth for Moab like pipes, and my heart soundeth like pipes for the men of Kir-heres: therefore the abundance that he hath gotten is perished. 37 For every head is bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.

36 “That is why I moan for Moab like a flute. I sound like a flute for the people of Kir Hareseth. The wealth they gained has disappeared. 

37 “Every head is shaved, and every beard is cut off. There are gashes on every hand and sackcloth on every waist.

36 Therefore, My heart moans like flutes for Moab, and My heart moans like flutes for the people of Kir-heres. And therefore, the wealth he has gained has perished. 37 Indeed, every head is bald and every beard clipped; on every hand is a gash and sackcloth around the waist.

36 Therefore my heart moans for Moab like a flute, and my heart moans like a flute for the people of Kir-heres; for the riches they gained have perished.

37 For every head is shaved and every beard cut off; on all the hands there are gashes, and on the loins sackcloth.

37 For on every head is baldness,

and every beard is trimmed.

On all the hands, slashes,

and on the loins, sackcloth.

36 “Like a flute my heart sings a song of sadness for Moab.

It sings like a flute for the men of Kir Hareseth.

The wealth they had gotten is gone.

37 Every head is shaved.

Every beard is cut off.

Every hand is cut.

And every waist is covered with black cloth.

36 “Therefore My heart wails for Moab like flutes; My heart also wails like flutes for the men of Kir-heres. Therefore they have lost the abundance it produced.

37 “For every head is bald and every beard cut short; there are gashes on all the hands and sackcloth on the loins.
