uhis boasts are false,
his deeds are false.

I cry out for all Moab;
for the men of wKir-hareseth I mourn.
32 More than for xJazer I weep for you,
aYour branches passed over the sea,
reached to the Sea of xJazer;
on your summer fruits and your grapes
the destroyer has fallen.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — The New International Version (NIV)
30 I know her insolence but it is futile,”
declares the Lord,
“and her boasts accomplish nothing.
31 Therefore I wail over Moab,
for all Moab I cry out,
I moan for the people of Kir Hareseth.
32 I weep for you, as Jazer weeps,
you vines of Sibmah.
Your branches spread as far as the sea;
they reached as far as Jazer.
The destroyer has fallen
on your ripened fruit and grapes.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
30 I know his wrath, saith the Lord; but it shall not be so;
His lies shall not so effect it.
31 Therefore will I howl for Moab,
And I will cry out for all Moab;
Mine heart shall mourn for the men of Kir-heres.
32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer:
Thy plants are gone over the sea,
They reach even to the sea of Jazer:
The spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — New Living Translation (NLT)
30 I know about his insolence,”
says the Lord,
“but his boasts are empty—
as empty as his deeds.
31 So now I wail for Moab;
yes, I will mourn for Moab.
My heart is broken for the men of Kir-hareseth.
32 “You people of Sibmah, rich in vineyards,
I will weep for you even more than I did for Jazer.
Your spreading vines once reached as far as the Dead Sea,
but the destroyer has stripped you bare!
He has harvested your grapes and summer fruits.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
30 “I know his wrath,” says the Lord,
“But it is not right;
His lies have made nothing right.
31 Therefore I will wail for Moab,
And I will cry out for all Moab;
I will mourn for the men of Kir Heres.
32 O vine of Sibmah! I will weep for you with the weeping of Jazer.
Your plants have gone over the sea,
They reach to the sea of Jazer.
The plunderer has fallen on your summer fruit and your vintage.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — New Century Version (NCV)
30 The Lord says,
“I know Moab’s great pride, but it is useless.
Moab’s bragging accomplishes nothing.
31 So I cry sadly for Moab,
for everyone in Moab.
I moan for the people from the town of Kir Hareseth.
32 I cry with the people of the town of Jazer
for you, the grapevines of the town of Sibmah.
In the past your vines spread all the way to the sea,
as far as the sea of Jazer.
But the destroyer has taken over
your fruit and grapes.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — American Standard Version (ASV)
30 I know his wrath, saith Jehovah, that it is nought; his boastings have wrought nothing. 31 Therefore will I wail for Moab; yea, I will cry out for all Moab: for the men of Kir-heres shall they mourn. 32 With more than the weeping of Jazer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah: thy branches passed over the sea, they reached even to the sea of Jazer: upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage the destroyer is fallen.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
30 I know his wrath, saith Jehovah; his pratings are vain: they do not as they say. 31 Therefore will I howl for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab: for the men of Kir-heres shall there be moaning. 32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with more than the weeping of Jaazer: thy shoots passed over the sea, they reached to the sea of Jaazer. The spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
30 I know how arrogant they are,” declares the Lord,
“but it isn’t right.
They brag and don’t do what they say.
31 That is why I will weep for Moab and cry for all of Moab.
I will moan for the people of Kir Hareseth.
32 I will cry for you as Jazer cries.
I will cry for you, grapevines of Sibmah.
Your branches ⸤once⸥ spread as far as the sea,
and they reached as far as the sea of Jazer.
The destroyer will destroy your ripened fruits and your grapes.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
30 I know his outburst.
This is the Lord’s declaration.
It is empty.
His boast is empty.
31 Therefore, I will wail over Moab.
I will cry out for Moab, all of it;
he will moan for the men of Kir-heres.
32 I will weep for you, vine of Sibmah,
with more than the weeping for Jazer.
Your tendrils have extended to the sea;
they have reached to the sea and to Jazer.
The destroyer has fallen on your summer fruit and grape harvest.
Jeremiah 48:30–32 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

for the people of Kir-heres I mourn.

reached as far as Jazer;
upon your summer fruits and your vintage
the destroyer has fallen.

and for all of Moab I cry out,
for the people of Kir-heres I moan.
32 More than the weeping of Jazer
I weep for you, O vine Sibmah.
Your branches cross over the sea,
up to the sea of Jazer they reach.
Upon your summer fruit and upon your vintage
the destroyer has fallen.

I cry for all of Moab’s people.
I groan for the men of Kir Hareseth.
32 I sob over you as Jazer sobs,
you vines of Sibmah.
Your branches used to spread out.
They went all the way down to the Dead Sea.
They reached as far as the sea of Jazer.
The one who destroys your country
has taken away your grapes and ripe fruit.

I will moan for the men of Kir-heres.
32 “More than the weeping for Jazer
I will weep for you, O vine of Sibmah!
Your tendrils stretched across the sea,
They reached to the sea of Jazer;
Upon your summer fruits and your grape harvest
The destroyer has fallen.
