12 But days are coming,”

declares the Lord,

“when I will send men who pour from pitchers,

and they will pour her out;

they will empty her pitchers

and smash her jars.

13 Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh,

as Israel was ashamed

when they trusted in Bethel.

12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord,

That I will send unto him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander,

And shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.

13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh,

As the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.

12 But the time is coming soon,” says the Lord,

“when I will send men to pour him from his jar.

They will pour him out,

then shatter the jar!

13 At last Moab will be ashamed of his idol Chemosh,

as the people of Israel were ashamed of their gold calf at Bethel.

12 “Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,

“That I shall send him wine-workers

Who will tip him over

And empty his vessels

And break the bottles.

13 Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh,

As the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

12 A time is coming,” says the Lord,

“When I will send people to pour you from your jars.

They will empty Moab’s jars

and smash her jugs.

13 The people of Israel trusted that god in the town of Bethel,

and they were ashamed when there was no help.

In the same way Moab will be ashamed of their god Chemosh.

12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will send unto him them that pour off, and they shall pour him off; and they shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles in pieces. 13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.

12 Therefore behold, days come, saith Jehovah, that I will send unto him pourers that shall pour him off, and shall empty his vessels, and break in pieces his flagons. 13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

12 That is why the days are coming,” declares the Lord, 

“when I will send people to pour Moab out of its jars 

and to smash its pitchers. 

13 Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh 

as the nation of Israel was ashamed when it trusted Bethel. 

12 Therefore look, the days are coming —

this is the Lord’s declaration—

when I will send those to him, who will pour him out.

They will empty his containers

and smash his jars.

13 Moab will be put to shame because of Chemosh,

just as the house of Israel was put to shame

because of Bethel that they trusted in.

12 Therefore, the time is surely coming, says the Lord, when I shall send to him decanters to decant him, and empty his vessels, and break his jars in pieces. 13 Then Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

12 Therefore look, days are coming,” declares Yahweh,

“and I will send to him decanters,

and they will decant him,

and his vessels they will empty out,

and their jars they will smash.

13 Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh,

just as the house of Israel were ashamed of Bethel, their trust.

12 But other days are coming,”

announces the Lord.

“At that time I will send people who pour wine from jars.

They will pour Moab out like wine.

They will empty its jars.

They will smash its jugs.

13 Then Moab’s people will be ashamed of their god Chemosh.

They will be ashamed just as the people of Israel were

when they trusted in their god at Bethel.

12 “Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will send to him those who tip vessels, and they will tip him over, and they will empty his vessels and shatter his jars.

13 “And Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.
