Jeremiah 11:17–18

17 The Lord Almighty, who planted you, has decreed disaster for you, because the people of both Israel and Judah have done evil and aroused my anger by burning incense to Baal.

18 Because the Lord revealed their plot to me, I knew it, for at that time he showed me what they were doing.

17 For the Lord of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal. 18 And the Lord hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then thou shewedst me their doings.

17 “I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, who planted this olive tree, have ordered it destroyed. For the people of Israel and Judah have done evil, arousing my anger by burning incense to Baal.”

18 Then the Lord told me about the plots my enemies were making against me.

17 “For the Lord of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced doom against you for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke Me to anger in offering incense to Baal.”

18 Now the Lord gave me knowledge of it, and I know it; for You showed me their doings.

17 The Lord All-Powerful, who planted you, has announced that disaster will come to you. This is because the families of Israel and Judah have done evil and have made him angry by burning incense to Baal.

18 The Lord showed me that people were making plans against me. Because he showed me what they were doing, I knew they were against me.

17 For Jehovah of hosts, who planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have wrought for themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense unto Baal.

18 And Jehovah gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it: then thou showedst me their doings.

17 For Jehovah of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done for themselves, to provoke me to anger in burning incense unto Baal.

18 And Jehovah hath given me knowledge, and I know it; then thou shewedst me their doings.

17 The Lord of Armies planted you. 

He has pronounced disaster on you. 

This is because of the evil things 

that Israel and Judah have done. 

They have made him furious by burning incense 

as an offering to Baal. 

18 The Lord revealed their plot to me so that I would understand. He showed me what they were doing.

17 “The Lord of Hosts who planted you has decreed disaster against you, because of the harm the house of Israel and the house of Judah brought on themselves, provoking Me to anger by burning incense to Baal.”

18 The Lord informed me, so I knew.

Then You helped me to see their deeds,

17 The Lord of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you because of the evil that the house of Israel and the house of Judah have done, provoking me to anger by making offerings to Baal.

18 It was the Lord who made it known to me, and I knew;

then you showed me their deeds.

17 And Yahweh of hosts, the one who planted you,

has spoken evil against you,

because of the evil of the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

that they have done to themselves,

to provoke me to anger by making smoke offerings to Baal.”

18 Moreover, Yahweh let it be made known to me, and I knew.

Then you showed me their deeds.

17 The Lord who rules over all planted you. But now he has ordered your enemies to destroy you. The people of Israel and Judah have done what is evil. They have made the Lord very angry by burning incense to Baal.

18 The Lord told me about the evil plans of my enemies. That’s how I knew about them. He showed me what they were doing.

17 The Lord of hosts, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done to provoke Me by offering up sacrifices to Baal.

18 Moreover, the Lord made it known to me and I knew it;

Then You showed me their deeds.
