Isaiah 57:18–21

18 I have seen their ways, but I will heal them;

I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners,

19 creating praise on their lips.

Peace, peace, to those far and near,”

says the Lord. “And I will heal them.”

20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea,

which cannot rest,

whose waves cast up mire and mud.

21 “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him:

I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

19 I create the fruit of the lips;

Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord;

And I will heal him.

20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea,

When it cannot rest,

Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

18 I have seen what they do,

but I will heal them anyway!

I will lead them.

I will comfort those who mourn,

19 bringing words of praise to their lips.

May they have abundant peace, both near and far,”

says the Lord, who heals them.

20 “But those who still reject me are like the restless sea,

which is never still

but continually churns up mud and dirt.

21 There is no peace for the wicked,”

says my God.

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him;

I will also lead him,

And restore comforts to him

And to his mourners.

19 “I create the fruit of the lips:

Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,”

Says the Lord,

“And I will heal him.”

20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea,

When it cannot rest,

Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

21 “There is no peace,”

Says my God, “for the wicked.”

18 I have seen what they have done, but I will heal them.

I will guide them and comfort them and those who felt sad for them.

They will all praise me.

19 I will give peace, real peace, to those far and near,

and I will heal them,” says the Lord.

20 But evil people are like the angry sea,

which cannot rest,

whose waves toss up waste and mud.

21 “There is no peace for evil people,” says my God.

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. 19 I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith Jehovah; and I will heal him. 20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt. 21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him; and I will lead him, and will restore comforts unto him and to those of his that mourn. 19 I create the fruit of the lips: peace, peace to him that is afar off, and to him that is nigh, saith Jehovah; and I will heal him. 20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which cannot rest, and whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

18 I’ve seen their ⸤sinful⸥ ways, but I’ll heal them. 

I’ll guide them and give them rest. 

I’ll comfort them and their mourners. 

19 I’ll create praise on their lips: 

“Perfect peace to those both far and near.” 

“I’ll heal them,” says the Lord. 

20 But the wicked are like the churning sea. 

It isn’t quiet, 

and its water throws up mud and slime. 

21 “There is no peace for the wicked,” says my God. 

18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;

I will lead him and restore comfort

to him and his mourners,

19 creating words of praise.”

The Lord says,

“Peace, peace to the one who is far or near,

and I will heal him.

20 But the wicked are like the storm-tossed sea,

for it cannot be still,

and its waters churn up mire and muck.

21 There is no peace for the wicked,”

says my God.

18 I have seen their ways, but I will heal them;

I will lead them and repay them with comfort,

19 creating for their mourners the fruit of the lips.

Peace, peace, to the far and the near, says the Lord,

and I will heal them.

20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea

that cannot keep still;

its waters toss up mire and mud.

21 There is no peace, says my God, for the wicked.

18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;

and I will lead him and give him and his mourners comfort as a recompense,

19 creating fruit of lips.

Peace, peace to the far and near,” says Yahweh, “and I will heal him.

20 But the wicked are like the churning sea,

that is not able to keep quiet,

and its waters toss up mire and mud.

21 There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”

18 I have seen what they have done.

But I will heal them.

I will guide them.

And I will comfort them just as I did before.

19 Then the people of Israel who are sorry for their sins will praise me.

I will give perfect peace to those who are far away and those who are near.

And I will heal them,” says the Lord.

20 But those who are evil are like the rolling sea.

It never rests.

Its waves toss up mud and sand.

21 “There is no peace for those who are evil,” says my God.

18 “I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;

19 Creating the praise of the lips.

Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near,”

Says the Lord, “and I will heal him.”

21 “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”
