Isaiah 37:32–35

32 For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant,

and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty

will accomplish this.

33 “Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:

“He will not enter this city

or shoot an arrow here.

He will not come before it with shield

or build a siege ramp against it.

34 By the way that he came he will return;

he will not enter this city,”

declares the Lord.

35 “I will defend this city and save it,

for my sake and for the sake of David my servant!”

32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant,

And they that escape out of mount Zion:

The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.

33 Therefore thus saith the Lord concerning the king of Assyria,

He shall not come into this city,

Nor shoot an arrow there,

Nor come before it with shields,

Nor cast a bank against it.

34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return,

And shall not come into this city, saith the Lord.

35 For I will defend this city to save it

For mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

32 For a remnant of my people will spread out from Jerusalem,

a group of survivors from Mount Zion.

The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies

will make this happen!

33 “And this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:

“ ‘His armies will not enter Jerusalem.

They will not even shoot an arrow at it.

They will not march outside its gates with their shields

nor build banks of earth against its walls.

34 The king will return to his own country

by the same road on which he came.

He will not enter this city,’

says the Lord.

35 ‘For my own honor and for the sake of my servant David,

I will defend this city and protect it.’ ”

32 For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant,

And those who escape from Mount Zion.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

33 “Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria:

‘He shall not come into this city,

Nor shoot an arrow there,

Nor come before it with shield,

Nor build a siege mound against it.

34 By the way that he came,

By the same shall he return;

And he shall not come into this city,’

Says the Lord.

35 ‘For I will defend this city, to save it

For My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.’ ”

32 A few people will come out of Jerusalem alive;

a few from Mount Zion will live.

The strong love of the Lord All-Powerful

will make this happen.’

33 “So this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:

‘He will not enter this city

or even shoot an arrow here.

He will not fight against it with shields

or build a ramp to attack the city walls.

34 He will return to his country the same way he came,

and he will not enter this city,’

says the Lord.

35 ‘I will defend and save this city

for my sake and for David, my servant.’ ”

33 Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come unto this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither shall he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it. 34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and he shall not come unto this city, saith Jehovah. 35 For I will defend this city to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

32 for out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of mount Zion they that escape: the zeal of Jehovah of hosts shall do this. 33 Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it. 34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith Jehovah. 35 And I will defend this city, to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

32 Those few people will go out from Jerusalem, and those who escape will go out from Mount Zion. The Lord of Armies is determined to do this.’ 

33 “This is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria: 

He will never come into this city, 

shoot an arrow here, 

hold a shield in front of it, 

or put up dirt ramps to attack it. 

34 He will go back the way he came, 

and he won’t come into this city,” 

declares the Lord of Armies. 

35 “I will shield this city to rescue it for my sake 

and for the sake of my servant David.” 

32 For a remnant will go out from Jerusalem and survivors, from Mount Zion. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this.’

33 “Therefore, this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria:

He will not enter this city

or shoot an arrow there

or come before it with a shield

or build up an assault ramp against it.

34 He will go back

the way he came,

and he will not enter this city.

This is the Lord’s declaration.

35 I will defend this city and rescue it

because of Me

and because of My servant David.”

32 for from Jerusalem a remnant shall go out and from Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

33 “Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come into this city, shoot an arrow there, come before it with a shield, or cast up a siege ramp against it. 34 By the way that he came, by the same he shall return; he shall not come into this city, says the Lord. 35 For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.”

32 For a remnant shall go out from Jerusalem

and survivors from mountain Zion.

The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.’

33 Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning the king of Assyria:

‘He shall not come to this city,

and he shall not shoot an arrow there,

and he shall not meet it with a shield,

and he shall not heap a siege ramp up against her.

34 He shall return by the way that he came,

and he shall not come to this city,’

declares Yahweh.

35 ‘And I will defend this city, to save it for my sake and for the sake of David, my servant.’ ”

32 Out of Jerusalem will come those who remain.

Out of Mount Zion will come those who are still left alive.

My great love will make sure that happens.

I rule over all.

33 “Here is a message from me about the king of Assyria. It says,

“ ‘He will not enter this city.

He will not even shoot an arrow at it.

He will not come near it with a shield.

He will not build a ramp in order to climb over its walls.

34 By the way that he came he will go home.

He will not enter this city,’

announces the Lord.

35 “I will guard this city and save it.

I will do it for myself.

And I will do it for my servant David.”

32 “For out of Jerusalem will go forth a remnant and out of Mount Zion survivors. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” ’

33 “Therefore, thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He will not come to this city or shoot an arrow there; and he will not come before it with a shield, or throw up a siege ramp against it.

34 ‘By the way that he came, by the same he will return, and he will not come to this city,’ declares the Lord.

35 ‘For I will defend this city to save it for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.’ ”
