Isaiah 59:1–3
59 Behold, bthe Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save,
or his ear dull, that it cannot hear;
2 cbut your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.
3 dFor your hands are defiled with blood
and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies;
your tongue mutters wickedness.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — The New International Version (NIV)
1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.
2 But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are stained with blood,
your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken falsely,
and your tongue mutters wicked things.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — King James Version (KJV 1900)
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save;
Neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God,
And your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood,
And your fingers with iniquity;
Your lips have spoken lies,
Your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — New Living Translation (NLT)
1 Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you,
nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.
2 It’s your sins that have cut you off from God.
Because of your sins, he has turned away
and will not listen anymore.
3 Your hands are the hands of murderers,
and your fingers are filthy with sin.
Your lips are full of lies,
and your mouth spews corruption.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened,
That it cannot save;
Nor His ear heavy,
That it cannot hear.
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God;
And your sins have hidden His face from you,
So that He will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood,
And your fingers with iniquity;
Your lips have spoken lies,
Your tongue has muttered perversity.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — New Century Version (NCV)
1 Surely the Lord’s power is enough to save you.
He can hear you when you ask him for help.
2 It is your evil that has separated
you from your God.
Your sins cause him to turn away from you,
so he does not hear you.
3 With your hands you have killed others,
and with your fingers you have done wrong.
With your lips you have lied,
and with your tongue you say evil things.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — American Standard Version (ASV)
1 Behold, Jehovah’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue muttereth wickedness.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — 1890 Darby Bible (DARBY)
1 Behold, Jehovah’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he doth not hear. 3 For your hands are stained with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips speak lies, your tongue muttereth unrighteousness:
Isaiah 59:1–3 — GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
1 The Lord is not too weak to save
or his ear too deaf to hear.
2 But your wrongs have separated you from your God,
and your sins have made him hide his face
so that he doesn’t hear you.
3 Your hands are stained with blood,
and your fingers are stained with sin.
You speak lies,
and you mutter wicked things.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — The Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
1 Indeed, the Lord’s hand is not too short to save,
and His ear is not too deaf to hear.
2 But your iniquities have built barriers
between you and your God,
and your sins have made Him hide His face from you
so that He does not listen.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood
and your fingers, with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies,
and your tongues mutter injustice.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — The New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
1 See, the Lord’s hand is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.
2 Rather, your iniquities have been barriers
between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood,
and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies,
your tongue mutters wickedness.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — The Lexham English Bible (LEB)
1 Look! The hand of Yahweh is not too short to save,
and his ear is not too dull to hear.
2 Rather, your iniquities have been barriers between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you, from hearing.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood,
and your fingers with iniquity.
Your lips have spoken lies,
your tongue speaks wickedness.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — New International Reader’s Version (1998) (NIrV)
1 People of Israel, the Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you.
His ears aren’t too deaf to hear your cry for help.
2 But your sins have separated you from your God.
They have caused him to turn his face away from you.
So he won’t listen to you.
3 Your hands and fingers are stained with blood.
You are guilty of committing murder.
Your mouth has told lies.
Your tongue says evil things.
Isaiah 59:1–3 — New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95)
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short
That it cannot save;
Nor is His ear so dull
That it cannot hear.
2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,
And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood
And your fingers with iniquity;
Your lips have spoken falsehood,
Your tongue mutters wickedness.
